My babies will be 9 months next week. I remember at our 6-month appointment the doctor suggesting we be down to three bottles a day by 9 months. Right now I do 4 bottles a day. When did you go down to three bottles and when during the day did you give them? Also, is there a minimum number of ounces per day? Thank you experienced moms!!

We are just now on somedays doing 3 bottles. Other days it is 4 bottles. They do get sippy cups at every meal.

We went down to 3 bottles around the end of the 10th month. They were getting about 20-24 ounces of formula at that time.

We just went down to 3 bottles last week as decided by the girls LOL. I offer them 3, 7oz. bottles around 8am, 1-2pm and 6-7pm. We do solids 3 times a day and I offer sippy's at each meal. I estimate they are only getting 15-20oz. a day. I'm not sure of the minimum per day, but we had Payton at the ped's last night for a virus and she's gained 11oz. in 2 weeks. So it seems to be enough. I'm very interested in what other have to say though.

I'm still doing 4 7 oz bottles every day and we are at almost 11 months.

    6:30, 11:00, 3:30 and 6:15.

I don't offer sippys at their three meals, though.
Pedi said not to cut it if they are still drinking it, since they are height-weight proportionate, and he said 20-30 oz was normal at this stage, although 28 was on the higher end.

Mine are still getting 4 bottles, 6-8oz per bottle, but they seem to be getting ready to drop another soon. They eat solids for breakfast and dinner but haven't added lunch just yet.

Mine get four bottles. First morning bottle is 6 oz and then they get 3 8 oz bottles at 10, 2, and 6.

Mine have four bottles still, but they are taking less and less and very unpredictable. They get 7 oz at 7:30 (used to always finish now only take 4-5oz. They get 6 oz at 11 and 3, again sometimse they take all, sometimes hardly any. They typically drink 6-8 oz before bed. They get sippies of water with meals. I will probably stop the 11 am bottle soon and give them a sippy to graze on instead... I estimate they get between 20-26 oz a day.

we dropped to 3 bottles right after our 9 month visit at the request of the pediatrician. At 11 months we dropped to 2 bottles and 2 weeks later to just 1 at bedtime...

Right at 10 months, and we were off of bottles at 11 months. At 9 months, my ped said 16-20oz.

We were at 3 bottles at just over 10 months. Now they have two, but they hardly drink their evening bottles. The love FOOD!

With my son 10 years ago they never mentioned how many bottles a day he could have. He hated food and drank an obscene amount of bottles. I didn't know there was a limit.

We were at about three bottles around 10-11 months. My guys had trouble saying good bye to them so if doesn't happen right away, don't sweat it. Mine were bottle free by 14 months.

We're down to three bottles a day now, sometimes just two! They just aren't that into the bottles now that they're eating solid foods. Now I just need to get them eating more table foods! They go through 12 - 15 jars of baby food a day and the grocery store clerks look at us like we're insane when we go to buy the week's worth of baby food!! Not to mention I feel like I'm always feeding them!

So ready for regular meals with the rest of the family!

wow that seemed like alot to me at first?! I had to do some math on that one to relieve my shock. So when do you have time to do anything else? ;)

My PED said my DD can go to 3 bottles now. She has 8oz. at 8am, then takes maybe 2oz. at 12 and then 8oz. at 4 and 8. He said I could try dropping the noon one and moving the 4:00 one to 2:00.

    I am starting this today.

My son on the other hand takes 4 9oz. bottles at 8-12-4 and 8

My DD loves solids and even chews her baby slop. My DS on the other hand is a VERY messy eater but he does like food as well.

It seems so early to do this, but she is asking for it, and she knows her body best. We shall see!

I honestly don't remember with my DD and was wondering when this happens.

It seems it's a gradual thing. We've been doing more table foods, so giving them a few oz at those times, then they eat less at their regular bottle feeding times.

Not to hijack this post, but they eat 4 or 5 jars per meal and have 3 meals a day. It seems like a lot of feeding, but when i add it up when spend about 30 or 45 minutes in the high chairs for each meal (and that counts cheerio time while I get everything else together). I also make sure daddy "gets to feed them" at least one meal a day which gives me a little break!

I wonder if our girls' appetites are "normal" but it seems to work for them right now so we'll go with it. :)
