When they grew out of it or when they became too heavy to carry?

We made the switch to convertibles when they were both able to sit up well on their own, which was around 8 or 9 months.

Our boys still use them, but we leave them in the car. We carry the boys to the car and when we are shopping, they go into the stroller. They are just SO heavy and they are pretty long. But I want to use these as much as I can.

Too heavy and too hot. By 3 months I was tired of lugging them in the carrier, and it was getting hot outside and when we'd go to the zoo or somewhere, they'd sweat too much in the carriers. So we switched to convertible's and bought a combi twin stroller to use!

well, I'm the oddity here... we're still using them at 16 months!! I got the SafeSeats and they are rated to 30 or 32 pounds... and they haven't outgrown the height yet either.

I don't lug them anywhere per se, but I love having the Double Snap & Go and am able to wheel them to the car (attached garage) and back to the house. The carriers are always stored in the DSNG along a wall in the living room. Its so nice to be able to buckle them inside the house in the cool a/c. Most of the time when we go out shopping, I just use the store carts (guess I haven't been to the mall in a while)... and if I do go to the mall, I usually just use the DSNG. One day, I'll probably start using the SBS combi stroller we have ... just haven't done that yet.

Our babies are pretty much lightweights... 20 & 21 pounds... so I'm not sure I'd really want to be lugging around a 30 pound baby... but truly we just use the carriers from the stroller to the car base. Its nice to be able to bring them in the house still sleeping if they fall asleep in the car.

We stopped at 7 months. Too heavy to carry. Plus I have really long babies.

I plan to keep the boys in the infant seats until they grow out of them and got the safeseats specifically so that we could have as long as possible. I am really hoping that they will make it a year and/or be walking before that happens. Between school and activities we spend a lot of time in and out of the car driving my older two around. I am also hoping that these guys walk at 10 months like their sisters did, but I don't know how likely that is since both girls were rolling over, sitting up, and doing that pre-crawl rocking by now.

As soon as they got to heavy for me to carry, we were done. I didn't see any advantage to them if I couldn't lift them!

We got rid of them at 7.5 months. Our heavier twin was just over 21 lbs and we have the Snugrides, which only go up to 22 lbs. I seriously considered getting rid of them at 6 months b/c they were too heavy for me to lug around by that point but DH really liked the carrier aspect so he talked me into keeping them longer. ;)

We had to move them out of the carriers at about 6 mos because of length. I was hoping to use them until they could sit up well but my convenience wasn't worth risking their safety. When they get too long, the straps don't fit correctly anymore.
