When did you get al lthe swings bouncers cribs...ect... put together?
We have no room for all this stuff.. so it all is sitting in the boxes in the garage.. I think i am starting to nest.. bc its driving me nuts to have it all just sitting there. I just dont have the energy and my DH works 16 hours a day and only has one or 2 days off a week.. and we are off to Dr's appointments and by the time we get back from those we are exhausted..

Also where did you store the swings and bouncers once they are put together.. We dont have a nursery. The babies will be rooming with us, until either step-brother moves out (thats another long vent.. we live in my in-laws house) or we move out..

I just have this feeling like i am going to be totally unprepared when these babies come. We have everything, but i cant do anything.. I get tired just dealing with DD...

I havent even packed my hospital bag or washed the babies clothes yet..

Am i the only one? I sure feel like it..

start with what you will need first (such as packing your bag) and do one thing a day. you can probably do most of it. the bouncies just require a screwdriver, so you can def do that. the swing or anything big, you may need help with. also, the stuff may take up less room than you anticipate. the bouncies can go on top of a dresser or shelf. you can keep it in the garage, but i would put a plastic bag over it.

i haven't done anything either yet, but am planning to start on week 30 and do one thing every day.

    good luck!

We've had our cribs together for awhile....I guess we're a little anxious!! But we haven't gotten the other stuff yet, waiting for the baby shower!! But after that we will be putting the stuff we need first together first.

I don't know when we are going to get our hospital bag ready...when should I? I'm thinking pretty soon, only because I've been having a lot of contractions lately, and I'm just worried that if I go to a doctors appointment or end up in the hospital, somebody can just stop by our house and grab it for us....

As far as washing the babies clothes, I'm gonna wait awhile, I really just don't want to have to wash a load with three tops because I got them later, ya know? I want to wash everything together....

    Good luck

I haven't done anything yet either. I have two nurseries that I am doing and only have one crib partially put together. I am really dreading painting it needs to be done, not necessarily done by me, but I hate the smell! I am waiting for the baby shower also. But when I do get everything I think I will put the pack and play and swings together first, and just store it wrapped up in the garage until its time. I am so procrastinating! I really wish I could do everything myself anyway instead of always asking or having him do it. I feel like everyday i am asking for something new. He has been so patient. But good luck just take your time but I would worry about your hospital bag first.

We had the room painted around 20 weeks. Then we put the furniture in shortly thereafter. I was put on bedrest at 24 weeks so my timing was pretty good!

All the swings, bouncers, etc. we did not set up anything until the babies came home. We set up one swing and one bouncer that first day they were home. They didn't like the bouncer at all, but loved the swing. So we did NOT open the second bouncer (we returned it) and opened the second swing sometime that day or the next day. We just opened stuff up as we needed it.

As for washing clothes, we just washed a few bare essentials for the first week (some onesies, jammies, and receiving blankets). Everything else we waited on. I was glad because we returned and exchanged A LOT of clothes and gear.

I would also try to set up one of everything and put it in plastic (trash bags work) and leave them in the garage. Most things are very simple to put together just take it easy doing it.

    Can DSS help?

I had almost everything done by 30wks. Good thing too because I was hospitalized at 30w4d with PTL for 10days then released on modified bedrest. We didn't have much room either at the time. We ended up either putting some of OUR stuff in storage or giving/selling it.

I had almost everything done within a few weeks after my big shower (29 weeks). My OB had me so concerned about PTL (never had any symptoms - she was just cautious) that I didn't want to wait until the last minute. I had everythiing assembled, crib and pnp beds made, clothes washed and put away, everything. We just piled most of it in their room and took it out as needed since they slept in the pnp in our room for the first 7 weeks.

We had the babies room ready to go a good two months before the due date. As far as all the swings, saucers, etc., we did not put anything like that together until they came home. Many of those items were sent to us as birth gifts for the boys so they did not even come until after their arrival.

We had nothing prepared except the cribs. After they were born we assembled/bought items as we needed them, it really was no big deal. Oh, and we had a few sleepers, diapers & formula. It all worked out fine.

i had my sister and parents over one night, hubby was at work and we all assembled everything. i figured it would be crowded but i would not feel like doing it after the babies were here. at least get the swings up.

    Hi Ashley,

I'm in nesting mode, too! I have just gone through my daughter's clothes and pulled the newborn and 3 months sizes out. Luckily they were put away already laundered - thanks to my very helpful grandmother. I am in organize mode with the rest of the house, which isn't too fun because I really can't do anything with this big belly in the way!

The only thing we have unpacked is a second infant carseat and its base. I think we're going to install them after next week - I'll be about 35 weeks then. You too, right?

We don't have a second nursery yet. We figured the twins were going to be in our room for a month or two, so we have time after they arrive to figure out what we needed to pull from the closets. Things (swing, bouncer, etc) weren't fully disassembled since our daughter just turned one, so we're not as packed away as you probably are since your daughter a little older.

Just today I actually pulled my small suitcase out and have only put in toiletries. Have you started your overnight bag yet? I figured I'll get packed over the next week - thank you to the mom who posted her list recently to remind me of what is needed!

You'll be fine - even if everything isn't put together by the time the twins arrive!

HOnestly? After they got here. I was put on bedrest at 28 weeks so I didn't have anything done. DH couldn't really get to it either as we have a 4 year old. I think the only thing that was put together was the cribs..
