When did you find your babies NEEDED a bath?

We do baths every night mostly because the babies really enjoy it, but now that they are crawling and getting into more stuff they are getting dirtier quicker!
When did you find that you NEEDED to bath your babies....

 

i bathe mine every other day.

 

We also bathe ours every other day unless there was a poop accident or they for some reason got dirty ~

 

With the twins it was every other day. With Evan, we've been doing it every 2 or 3 days (errr.. I). He isn't crawling yet though.

 

My girls still go 3 days between baths, but I think they could have them more often. I just don't like to dry out their skin. Usually, a baby wipe in the neck & leg cracks will take care of most of the stuff between baths.

 

Basically for the whole first year we bathed them every 2-3 days. They just didn't get that dirty (and when they were crawling it was winter here so they were inside). Now that they are walking and playing outside, we bathe them every night.

 

I bathe every other day now. Up until recently it was every 3 days. They are a little dirtier now that they are scooting around and eating more solids, but on the days we don't bathe them I feel they get clean enough with a wipedown with a washcloth.

Same here. If I wash their hair every day their scalps get too dry. If they get dirty during the day I give them a bath in the evening but mostly to rinse off, play, and blow off steam before bed.

 

Every 3 days here, mostly because it's a real pain to give them baths at the moment (we have to do it on the living room table, and bring pans of water, as our kitchen and bathroom are too small). I might do it more once we start solids in the evening though.

 

We always did baths everyday also, but when solids started at 4 months, we definitely needed them everyday!

 

I bathed every day (and did w/ older ds as well) only because I remember the fights I had w/ my mom about not wanting to take them… then she deciding I was going to take them every night (I was the BIGGEST tom boy and hung w/ my older brother a bit too much)… and when it was every night just like dinner was every night I stopped fighting… so I only did it to head off toddler fights down the road (and they enjoy it)… I’m glad I did because when the crawling started I felt better with him sucking on his hands for the whole night AFTER they had soaked in a tub... but that’s just me and my comfort level

 

We have always bathed them everynight as part of our routine from very early on. It became apparent that they "needed" them around the time that I started feeding them solids and they would get incredibly messy especially during finger feeding sessions. Gross!

 

We do it every other day unless we have a mess that wipes or a washcloth cant fix

I used to bathe them every night. Then it turned to once every other day, Then to every 3 days.. Because there was really no need. And Now its about every 2 days unless something major happens.. When food starts bathing starts more often..

 

Every two to three days here.

 

I feel so satisfied when all my kids are bathed and in their jammies. (Older two take showers by themselves.) We just do it as a part of our nightly routine. My twins are big spitter-uppers though, and do need them daily.

 

Goodness...I feel like such a slacker! I only bathe mine once a week! That's what we've done from the beginning and I still don't find that they get all that dirty.

 

Gosh I remember when my boys were newborn and people saying how they bathed every other day, etc... All I could ask was HOW?!? LOL! We did twice a week... Now that they crawl everywhere-I TRY to do it every other day. With the dog hair all over the place and them crawling on the floor-well-they need it. Oh-and if we have pasta for dinner-that word alone signals a bath!

And the great thing is-they love it-and I don't mind it so much! We put them in the kitchen sink(after buying the infant tub, then the cute duck tub...) and they have a blast!

 

Not really much at all. They got cleaned 3 or more times a day with a washcloth just due to meals and that pretty much got everything off. We really only gave baths if they got something in their hair that the washcloth wouldn't get out or if we felt that we should just out a sense of guilt.

Our kids loved baths so much and get so excited and playful that it's not a relaxing affair for them at all and they never wanted to get out.

Ditto. I work 2nd shift 2 nights a week so it's not feasible to do baths every night. We end up doing baths about 4 days a week (5 if they are really dirty).

Oh thank heavens! I was reading all these and thinking I was awful for doing a weekly bath!! I use cloth diapers though and cloth wipes and find that is like a daily bed bath for them. The wipes get dipped in a solution that is kind of soapy. I usually do a body wipe down daily with those. There is pure lavender oil in the solution so they always smell nice

 

Depends on how bad they smell

 

My oldest got bathed every other day when she was a baby.

Now nobody gets a bath more than once a week, barring a major catastrophe.

 

We started nightly baths at around 2 months. I have a very acute sense of smell, and I like my babies smelling nice and fresh! I find that they always feel kind of sticky, and smell kind of sour (like dry sweat), when we skip a day!

 

We bathe ours every other day. They don't get too dirty but we like the smell of fresh clean babies

 

We give baths every other night. I don't like the smell of sweaty/oily/dirty hair, and a day is about as long as I can go before they go in the tub!

Oh, phew! I'm not the only one.

 

We do every night since they were born because we wanted them to have that as part of their bedtime routine. To avoid dry skin, we use Aveeno oatmeal body wash and Eucerin makes a great lotion with only a little alcohol. Right now we are using an organic lotion that is even better.

 

We bathe every 2 to 3 days--due to exzema--the baths dries out their skin and dermaologist suggested only every2-3 days
