When did you drop?

I am 31.3 weeks pregnant with twins. I have significantly dropped in the past week to the point where two different people have commented on it. I can physically feel the babies sitting lower and my belly literally rests on my legs, and my belly is now hanging out under my maternity shirts. It is very uncomfortable, but that isn't my concern.

My question is when did others start dropping with their twin pregnancy? And did you start progressing soon after? I have not been examined in 3 weeks, and at that time my cervix was still long. I have been having alot of strong BHs the past few weeks as well, so I am just wondering what all this might mean. With my DS I never had a single BH.

My babies should be about 4.5lbs each, so that is about 9 lbs of baby plus their "stuff".

    Thanks!

I'll be interested to hear the answers to this, too. I'm in the same boat - but I've been having frequent BH contractions for about 5 weeks now; in fact, they seem to have slowed down some recently.

Why don't they make maternity shirts longer? I can't even wear the next size up without my belly hanging out - it's rather embarassing in public because I'm constantly either tugging at my shirt to pull it down or at my pants to pull them up!

Dropping can happen days to weeks before babies show up and sometimes they dont drop till you go into labor. Its one of those fun things like a mucus plug where it could mean soon, or it could mean nothing. Sorry i dont have a better answer.

I am not sure that I have "dropped" but things are starting to pull lower.

I have been waiting for a tremendous drop in the belly, but it seems to be the same.

i dropped about 2 weeks ago, and there has been ZERO progression..lots and lots of contractions...i'm being classified as "prodromal" labor right now..which is lots of contractions with no progression..i had it for 2 weeks before my now 7 year old was born...it really varies person to person

I'm not sure that I've dropped more than my gut is just hanging more than sticking out. Gross. And I'm having the maternity top problem BAD. I am normally skinny and have not gained a tremendous amount of weight, other than in my belly, and in order to get a top to cover my gut, the shoulder/arms/underarm area looks ridiculous. And I still have 6 weeks to go. I am going to have to hide in my house. Should be fun with two toddlers underfoot.

I dropped a few weeks before I went into labor. I was also having a lot of BH at the time so I thought that I was going to have the babies really soon, but I was wrong.
