When did u pack your bag?

I didnt have a bag packed with the boys b/c we went to the hospital very suddenly. B/c the boys went to special care there was not much I needed but a toothbrush and such which the hospital provided to me.

This time I'm hoping that my boy wont need to go to special care and will be coming home with me. I went down the check list that's in the Expecting section and made up a list but Im wondering if there was something that was maybe not on the list that you really wish you would have taken with you? I only have the basics on my list and some things for the baby such as clothes and a blanket and stuff.


Also DH keeps telling me I need to get my bag packed and ready and I have been putting it off. When did you have your bag packed and ready to go?

 

Umm... I think I had it packed about at 37 weeks for Evan. For the twins it was just after my 32nd week appt. since they detected low fluid in one of the sacs. Slippers/socks was something I packed that I liked. Other than that... nothing much. I was only there for 2 nights and I stayed in the hospital gown.

 

i packed waaaaay too much! DH says if i even consider packing a 1/3 as much next time, there won't be one. :lol: that being said, i agree with PP about socks & slippers. also, chapstick was a big one for me.

 

It may sound funny, but I always want makeup, and maybe a hairdryer. It was one of the things I didn't take with my oldest. I thought it wouldn't matter, because I was just going in to give birth. I forgot about all the people who were going to come see us... well, mostly see the new baby. Plus, after all the effort of giving birth, it's nice the next day to get a shower, put on some makeup and feel a little more human.

 

I liked shower shoes and my own SOFT toiletpaper! I also took my own pillow (but put a pillowcase on it thats not white so it doesnt get taken by accident!)

 

I just packed on Sunday. With Dax, I was more like 37 weeks when I packed. Other than my Hypnobabies stuff and 2 nightgowns for the birth (I buy them on clearance so I don't care if they get messed up), my most important items are black socks, quarters (for Paul to buy snacks), camera, cell phone charger, and the camera battery charger.
