When did PG get *really* tough?

I've been reading some of the posts by Jordari and others with interest -- the peeing while coughing (and puking), the rolling over woes, fitting in bathroom stalls, etc.

And I'm cracking up, because I know I'll be there soon!

But I'm curious, at what point in your pregnancy did things become really unbearable?

I'm 19 weeks today, and while I'm already having trouble sleeping, rolling over, climbing stairs, putting on socks, etc. -- it's not THAT bad yet. Certainly much worse than the same point in my singleton pregnancy, but I've still maintained some level of sanity....at what point will that go? :)

For me, it was around 33 weeks.

I remember often wondering the same thing... For me, it started to get difficult around 24-25 weeks, and while its harder now, I feel that weeks 29-32 were about the same (which was a relief because I was anticipating exponential uncomfortability each week). We'll see how I do the next few weeks! [IMG] Good luck! (A lot of it for me is compounded by chasing a 2 year old and a 1 year old around all day)

For me things started to get rough around 32 weeks. This is when I had to quit work because standing for long periods brought me to tears. I am an ICU nurse and the people I work with helped me tons, but there comes a point where even sitting is unbearable and you just gotta give in. Before that, I had a relatively easy pregnancy. Now it is a completely different story. I shouldn't complain as I do not have it as bad as most I have seen here and my kiddos are healthy...knock on wood...but every day I get bigger and it is harder to get anything done. I become more and more tired and then have insomnia all night even if I don't take a nap. I live with constant joint and pelvic pain that seems to get worse everyday. I have PUPPS and the itching drives me insane!!!!! But the worst one is if I cough or laugh to hard then I puke because the babies are so high and press on my tummy. I am so glad to be hitting the 34 week marker tomorrow because it means I am almost done...even if I will miss parts of it.

First at 32 weeks when I started to dialate though I still felt fine. At 35 weeks it really got bad ... major swelling in my legs, etc. Turned out they were big ... made it past 38 weeks though.

I would say it's been within the last couple of weeks...It's not completely unbearable, but my comfort level is shot. I was trying to work til the end of the month, but am going off after this week...I'm just too tired at work, and feel like I NEED the day time naps because I'm not sleeping well at night. I think my hubby and step-sons would also throw in that I've been more irritable and less patient lately! [IMG]

Wow. I am only 12wks right now, and of coarse feel great, but sounds kind of scary. Plus with me it will be dead of summer when I hit that point. Not helping the comfort level at all.

It started to get tough around 28 weeks for me, but it didn't get really unbearable until 35-36 weeks for me. I think it was because I knew it was just about over, I lost my patience.

I think I'm reaching the point now. I still have a sense of humour about it, but I predict that will disappear fast in the coming weeks.

I just hold on to the fact that I can't have more than 6 more weeks to go (and that's if I'm lucky) and that it's going to be SOOOOOOOOOOO worth it when I see my babies.

  11. It started to get rough around 32 weeks. I would say right now at 35 weeks it is unbearable. I can't find a position to be comfortable in and nothing takes away the pain anymore.

It is starting to get to me now. The pain in my pelvis by night time and my aching legs and hips each morning suck. Plus it is hard to even get comfortable enough to sleep with my belly being bigger and the babies pushing so hard when I lay on my side.

Ahhh the joys of twin pregnancy....... [IMG]

I actually never had it *really* tough. I did have some PTL issues so I was put on bedrest at 29 weeks but I felt great. I never had any trouble sleeping, sure I had to wake up every couple of hours to roll over and/or make a trip to the bathroom but honestly but I never got uncomfortable. Not trying to make you all hate me, just trying to give a little diferent perspective and show that it is possible!

it's funny bc just when i think, "ugh, this is SO hard," there are days that get harder...lol. some days i feel okay though. it's day by day for me, i think depending on what organs they are pushing against. when i measured 41 weeks (at my 34 week appt.) is when i felt, "is this done yet?" last week i measured 46 weeks.

last night i got 11 and 1/2 hours of sleep. like dianne said i had to get up to use the bathroom, too, and it is really difficult getting out of bed, but i'm still getting pretty good sleep (fingers crossed). i didn't think this was possible, esp. with being on bed rest for so long (5 and 1/2 weeks). i figure my good sleep last night was body's way of singing (to the tune of donna summer's, LAST DANCE), "last chance, it's my last chance, for slee-ee-eep." I'll be 30 weeks on weds and in the last week or so it's gotten tough. It's probably compounded by my anemia, because I am SOOOOO tired), but - I'm started to do that Pregnant Lady hauling myself out of chairs thing....I expect it will get worse (but then, we get TWO babies at the end!)

My daughter is 31w4d, and she said this past weekend she felt like someone had flipped a switch ... she went from feeling decent and having a fair amount of energy to suddenly BAM!, just feeling like crap, more tired than she thought possible, and being so ready to have this over with!!

I saw her two weekends ago and she was absolutely glowing and her tummy was not nearly as big as I thought a 29 week twin pregnancy would be. Then I saw her again this weekend and she looks like she has gained several inches in her belly, and she is exhausted and very weepy. She was planning to work a couple more weeks but yesterday she said that this will probably be her last week.

The good news is that I can tell her that she's normal! From what I can tell, this twin pregnancy stuff is NOT for SISSIES! [IMG] Hang in there, ladies, you're all doing GREAT!!!!! I have a great deal of respect for those of you who have had/are having TWO BABIES at once! [IMG]

I think I'm finally just worn out and I'm 34 weeks. I haven't had a good night's rest in probably 4 months due to insomnia, bathroom breaks, being uncomfortable or my 2 1/2 year old getting up. The babies are now all the way up to my boobs and it's painful sometimes. My hips ache so badly by morning I can't sleep past 6 some mornings. Overall, I'm just exhausted and being home with a 2 1/2 year old leaves little time for naps. I do consider myself lucky though that I've made it this far without complications or bedrest and I do spend most of the day cleaning house, running errands, doing laundry, etc. which probably doesn't help how tired I am. I am ready for this pg to be over though and actually hope I go into labor before my scheduled c-section. I'm guessing the twins are about 5 lbs each right now and 10 lbs of baby plus placentas, fluid, etc. is a lot to carrying around all day!

I definately felt a change at 28 weeks, but it really got worse in week 31 for me. Everything hurts now and with intermittant contractions I am pretty uncomfortable. My mind keeps telling my body that it has a little longer to go!

Mine didnt get really hard until I started my 30th week. Then I was BIG and uncomfortable. Then at 38 weeks I couldnt hardly walk anymore. It was very hard for the next week until I was induced...hehe

My singleton pregnancy wasnt this hard though...Good luck I hope you take the pregnancy well. [IMG]

I have reached that point now as well. My girls are big, and i measure 10 weeks ahead!!! I feel like my inner geriatic self is coming out. I move slower, cant get up without help and a lot of grunting and noise. much to the delight of my kids who laughs at there active mom being so helpless without them. I think i do abuse it a little sometime when I feel like a cup of tea (he he he) and I get away with doing too much. So I am still enjoying it. except for the bedrest....

I am still waiting [IMG] I really cant complain this pregnancy. Everything has went quite smoothly. The only difference I have had with this one versus my singletons is having GD and having to give insulin shots. I can handle that.

I was on bedrest from 16 weeks on, so it wasn't too tough because all I did was lay around. Well, not physically tough, but it definitely was mentally tough.

I started getting really uncomfortable at 30 weeks. Everytime I got up to use the restroom I had contractions and pain. And I was feeling huge.

I hit the wall a couple weeks ago also.
It is comforting to know that I am not the only one, struggling thru the latter part of this pregnancy.

I think I'm just starting to get there (at 33.5 wks), but that said, I think it could be (and may get) a lot worse. I could be on bedrest or in the NICU with preemies. Still...I can't walk for very long, my back hurts, can't sleep, am uncomfortable most of the time, etc. but for me, the hardest part is being so debilitated. I am a go go go type of person and I keep thinking of all the things I still need to do and have to stop and remind myself that I can barely walk, let alone run down to Home Depot for an errand by myself. I hate depending on others to help me or do things for me, that is incredibly difficult for me.

i haven't "hit the wall" yet but I can say it is already more difficult then my singleton was at full term. It is much more difficult to get around then it was with him.

I would have to say around 31wks..Its harder to get comfy at night to sleep w/out my hip,my back.or my pelvic bone hurting..Rolling over is even more harder now..It seems everytime i do it pops, which doesnt feel good...My back hurts all the time now...I wonder just how long i can take this...I'm soooo tired of hurting.....

Probably around 33 weeks it started to get unbearable, now at 35 weeks and some days I feel like I've hit the wall. Just feel like crying all the time because every single function of life is so hard right now. I'm so done.

For me the toughest time was in the beginning from about 11 to 20 weeks with terrible, I wish I were dead, morning sickness! If I wasn't puking in the toilet, I was sleeping beside it. It was the worst thing I have ever experienced. Other than that, only the last weekend before I delivered at 36 weeks was bad. My legs were so swollen I couldn't walk and I was give out. I worked full time up until that time and also finished my college degree at night, so maybe the activities kept my mind off of it.

As far as the cough and peeing thing...I actually have that worse now than I did then. They really destroyed my bladder control [IMG]

    It never did for me.
In fact, I was shocked when I went into labor early (35 wks 5 days) because I felt I could have kept going much longer.
    oh well.

I agree with Jude Rose. Mine never got hard at all. I was surprised too when i went into PTL as i had no problems at all during my pregnancy, in fact you could have called mine the perfect pregnancy! x
