I had my twin boys when I was 34wks and 3 days. I was having contractions at 29weeks and they stopped them. Then when I hit 34 wks. I went in for my ultra sound and non stress test and come to find out I was contracting and dialated to 4 cm with in 2 hours.
My advise I can give to you is that try to keep them in as long as possible. Even though you are due Jan 8 you won't get a lot to write off for having them at the end of the year. I would have loved it if they could've stayed in longer. Going early is scary and you think you are prepared mentally but in reality the babies would have to stay in the hospital and you watch everyone else go home with theirs and you can't. Hopefully this helps.

I had my babies at 33 weeks exactly. I was due in Jan 07 and hoped they would come in dec for tax perposes as well. They came even earlier then that, 7 weeks early. But they were healthy and just stayed in the NICU for 17 days as feeders and growers. Although the tax break was nice, keep those babies in there as long as possible.

I had my boys at 33 weeks and 1 day. I would agree that the longer they stay in the better. You don't want them to have to spend any time in the NICU. Especially if they have to be in there after you get sent home. My boys were in the NICU for 16 days while they grew and learned how to eat. It is very exhausting having to commute back and forth to the hospital.

My girls were born at 32 weeks via a scheduled c-section. they were monoamniotic and the care plan was to deliever at 32 weeks. My first born was due December 28 and we delivered December 27. You get the tax break for the whole year but better to lose the tax break this year spend time in the NICU. My girls were in for 20 days and it was the longest time ever.

34w 1d -- but I was induced early due to pre-e. The boys then spent 6 days in the NICu as growers/feeders. I think generally you'll find that most ob's don't want to see a twin pg last longer than 36 - 38 weeks (depending on the doc's preferences). I know mine wasn't going to let me go past 36w . . .

My girls came at 37w4d, big and healthy take home babies. My OB was originally going to induce at 38w, but my high risk guy that did my ultrasounds said it would be ok to go ahead at 37w5. I went into labor the night before induction. My girls were 7lbs2oz and 9lbs1oz!

My due date is 1-14-08, but my Doc won't let me go past 37 weeks...which is the week of Christmas. He promised me two more tax deductions for 2007!Although two healthy babies sounds even better :icon_biggrin:

but since im due on jan 8th, that would only be say 1 week and 1 day if i had the babies on Dec 31st... so i would be what 38weeks and 6 days.... and it doesnt seem that many women even get to that point... thats what i was asking... since it seems that i more then likely will have them in Dec or before the new year.

I bet you'll have them in late december. I was 38w2d, no signs of labor. I had a c-section. :)

Our first two sets were born in my 40th week (vaginally). Our third set had to be born via c-section at only 24 weeks due to severe ttts, but they survived and are healthy.

Oh, and our first set weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. & 7 lbs. 13 oz. (ID twins)
Our second set weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. & 9 lbs. 1/4 oz. (frat. twins)
Our preemie twins weighed 1 lb. 9 oz. and 2 lbs. 4 oz. (which was good for 24 weeks). ID twins
