What's your wake up time?

My boys are 3 months and STTN... last feed is 10pm and then DH wakes them up for a bottle of EBM at 6am before he goes to work. They generally go back down until at least 9am. Is that too late? One of my boys is starting to wake up early. He's not hungry (they eat every 3 - 3.5 hours during the day) so we just hang out until the other one is up. I try to keep them on the same eating schedule at least as I tandem breast feed.

7am seems to be a common wake up time. Are mine too late or should I go with it for now?

P.S. The reason I'm wondering about 7am is that they could probably stay asleep until then, then we'd feed and stay awake instead of putting them back down. Not sure.

I think both the current schedule and the one you propose both sound great. Mine used to sleep until 9:00 until we started preschool and then we shifted to an earlier bedtime so they would get up earlier. But if they are sleeping til 9:00, there's nothing wrong about that. If they get up at 7:00, then they can make up for the 2 hours of lost sleep by going to bed earlier (I'm assuming the 10:00 feed you mentioned is also bedtime--that was our bedtime when they were sleeping later in the AM).

My boys have slept from 8pm-10am for a long time now. Heck, sometimes they'll wake up at 10am for a bottle and go back to sleep for another hour. When they were about 3-4 months though, it was about a 10pm bed time then an 8am wake up.. A couple more months went by and it became the 10pm bedtime and 10am wake up.. By about 7 months it became the 8pm-10am (give or take an hour sometimes) that it has been and they are almost 14 months now. My boys still do take two naps about an hour long each.

For us, it's perfect. We are later people so them getting up later has worked for us. Now that their bedtime is 8pm it gives us about 2 hours to each other on weeknights before my DH has to go to bed for work the next day. On weekends, it's even nice cause we could be up until 2am and still get about 8 hours of sleep.

Do what works for you! Every baby is different.

Ours are 4 1/2 months, but 3 months adjusted. DS usually wakes up around 6 or 630, DD will sometimes sleep until 9 or 10 (but that's after having a bottle at 5 or 530).

I don't know. All I do know is I am jealous! I say go with it-if it works for your family-go with it!! Anything after 7am over here, and I am one happy momma! Lately it's been 6am, and I am NOT amused!

My daughter wakes any time between 7:30-9AM. She usually goes to bed between 9-10 and wakes about 3-4 times a night for feedings.

My twins woke at 6:30AM sometimes 6 at that age, and they went to bed around 10-11PM, and ate twice during the night.

i started the 7a wake time fairly early (based on the baby whisperer and/or babywise) and it works good for us. dh getst to see them for a few minutes before heading off to work, in fact he loves getting them up and starting their day.

whatever works for your situation is what works!

Me too!! And I agree that if it works for you, don't change anything!!! There's no reason why they have to get up earlier. Enjoy it!
