I had a full size swing when I had the boys and with lack of space these days I have decided to get a travel swing.

I was going to get a Fisher Price Deluxe travel swing or the Fisher price Aquarium swing but after reading some reviews I dont know If I want to go that way anymore. On top of the reviews these swings dont look to comfy for a newborn. I have also been considering the Boppy Travel.

Opinions please. What did you like and dislike about your swings?

Whats your fav. travel swing? Did it work great for your newborn? Up to what weight did you get to use it? I read on the Deluxe at 15 lbs you were done with the swing?

    thanks in advance.

If you have a Graco car seat they make the frame for the car seat swing...you just snap the car seat into it.. My boys loved it and it's super easy to cart around..It's only like $50 too.. We also had the Boppy Travel Swing and they weren't a big fan of that...

The car seat swing is a great idea. I might have to look into that.

What was the reason you didnt like the bobby swing?

We like the Rainforest open top take along swing. It has worked great from day one. I believe they can use it until they are 25 pounds. They are still 10 pounds so we use it a lot. They like it better than the bouncy seats. We bring them when we visit Grandparents too. It is great.

we got the rainforest swing too but my girls don't like it because it swings too fast even on the lowest setting and they are all scrunched up in it... I was disappointed with it...

We started with 1 full size swing (Fisher Price baby papasan I think) and the boys loved it so we decided to get another swing, and as we had a trip coming up I thought a travel swing was a good idea. We got the boppy. It worked fine for the 2 days we tried to use it, but turns out my kiddos only liked a cradle swing that went side to side. At 4 months, one of them has relented and will now tolerate being swung front to back, but the other adamantly protests, and they both still prefer side to side. Unfortunately for us, we couldn't find a travel cradle so we ended up with two of the big ones and still find a way to cram it in the car for trips, and clear enough space in the living room to have them both set up.

I will say my first uses batteries, and the 2nd is AC powered. Love that I don't have to worry about running down the batteries, or gasp - having them be dead when I need the swing the most only to find out that I can't find the screw driver to get the stupid battery compartment off or don't have the half dozen batteries it required, but also dislike having to keep an eye on the power cord. The corded version also doesn't swing as vigariously on the same speed - go figure. I would still by the AC one if I had to do it over though.
