so i've noticed that recently Danika spends most of her day with her tongue sticking out. anyone else have LOs who do this? anyone know why they do it?

Both of mine do that too, lol. Not as often now as when they were smaller, but we would always touch their chin and smile at them and say "get that tongue back in your mouth!"

Any time I wipe their faces they stick out their tongues and try to lick the washcloth, and when I brush their teeth they want to suck all the toothpaste off the toothbrush. It's goofy, lol.

My daughter does this, especially when she was younger. She does not stick her tongue out as much as she used to. I think it's something normal, I've never been told otherwise.

One of my DDs did this all the time when she was tiny! DH and I actually asked the pedi about it because we were concerned. She just has a long tongue and likes to stick it out. Now she does it when she is concentrating on something.. its very cute!

My little girl started doing this a lot about a week ago. Its funny cause she curls it up at the end and smiles with this tongue sticking out. We call her Gene Simmons :)

One DD has been sticking her tongue out constantly too, and they're about the same age. We call her baby Gene Simmons, like a previous poster! She seems pretty proud of herself while she's doing it.

Yep, they are learning about their bodies. Sticking their tongues out is perfectly normal. DS stickes his tongue out when he is concentrating on something and he is 3!

Mine did this alot around 4-5 months. I think they are just locating different body parts - and learning what they can do with them! :)

DS has been playing with his tongue since before he was born. We saw him doing it on ultrasound. He was doing it in the NICU. And he still does goofy things with his tongue today! (And thinks it's hilarious if I stick my tongue out and then pull it back in before he can grab it.)

Annalise did this a lot at 6 months. We don't know why, but everyone sure got a kick out of it!

Lucas does this. Ever since he discovered he could stick it out, it normally stays out LOL
