    ....and how old were they??

My brother is getting married in August this year in Brazil. It's a 9+ hour OVERNIGHT flight. I took it this past year at 20 weeks preggo and it was MISERABLE. I want to go to the wedding, which means at least me and my then 8 month old. I WANT to take the twins too so DH doesn't have to take that time off work to watch them, but I'm wondering how crazy that would be. I'd be traveling with my parents who are also going down for the wedding, so I wouldn't be alone.

So, all you experienced MOM flyers....wdyt? TIA.

We traveled from WA to FL when they were about 19 months old. The whole trip was 8+ hours. It wasn't that bad at all. I would say that if you have help then it's totally feasible to take the baby and the girls. They will be over 4 years old so I imagine that age is a lot easier than 19 months.

My girls have gotten progressively easier to fly with and I think two 4.5 year olds would definitely be feasible. Our last flight in October was 4.5 hours and the girls did just fine. They were getting ready to go to sleep by the time we landed so that would have bought us a few more hours. The more difficult one to travel with will be the 8 month old but I traveled with the girls at 8.5 months old on two 2 hour flights with a 1 hour layover and it went really well. You always seem to be a prepared mommy so I'm sure you'd handle it just fine. [IMG]

If possible, I'd sit the girls with your parents so you can concentrate on Liam.

I haven't flew with the boys since they were 9 months, we went from Sicliy to Ohio, so total travel time start to finish including layovers and flights was 23 hours. I did not find it a problem at all. I have not done it with them since. I did it with my daughers in the past, around that age, they were 1 and 4 at the time and I didn't find it a problem either.

You can definitely do it, especially if you have help. We went to Israel from NY (about 12 hours each way) when the kids were 13 months. That was probably the most annoying age to go because they are just becoming walkers and want to explore EVERYTHING on their own but they did not have the attention span to sit and color or watch a DVD. We just got back from Florida yesterday and, even though it was a significantly shorter flight, they were just easier to travel with. I think your girls will do great and it will be a fun experience for them!

    Regards,
    Esther

My husband and I flew with the twins from Atlanta to Hawaii (9 hour flight) for their first birthday. It went well and we had a lot of helpful tips from this forum. I think I still have a list saved if you are interested.

We flew to the Netherlands from Georgia. 10 hour flight home, plus the awful security wait at the airport. It is hard to do, but survivable!
