what's the goofiest thing you do to get a laugh from your babies?

Just curious - what is the dumbest, silliest thing you do to entertain your babies?

I will fess up: my babies think it's the funniest thing ever to hear mom doing a one-person rendition of that 80's song "Oh Yeah" by Yello. They go from fussing to giggling like crazy. Thank goodness there are no webcams in my house!!!

When I sing and act out "The wheels on the bus..." song. Like the verse "the people on the bus go up and down" I go up and down and they both break out laughing. I'm sure they are laughing *at* me and not *with* me, but its so cute! I need to learn some new verses though because I just repeat the only three I know (wheels, people, and wipers).. and then I make up some of my own "the spark plugs on the bus go spark spark spark" because I don't know what spark plugs do.

We sing "Baby Got Back" like Ross and Rachel did on Friends and pick them up and sway them and shake their bums. They love it!!!

I sing I've Been Working on the Railroad, complete with a loud "thppppft" at the end of every "Dinah won't you blow..." -- DS especially thinks blowing raspberries is the funniest thing ever!

I also stick my nose in DD's belly button -- that gets the major giggles going. :D

Oh my - there are so many things! Last night after the babies were done eating and were "captive" in their high charis, DH started (as he called it) "krumping". The babies thought it was hilarious. I'm worried the gratification he received may mean we have to witness it again!! (DH has no rhythm whatsoever!)

For a long time, DS LOVED to have us wave his arms wildly while signing MC Hammer's Can't Touch This. We tried it with other songs, and he never liked it as much as with the Hammer!

    Fun post - thanks!

the doors on the bus go open and shut, the horn on the bus goes beep, honk, toot whatever you prefer,
the money in the box goes clink clink clink, the baby on the bus goes waa waa waa, mommy on the bus goes sh sh sh

I sing and dance and make silly faces, and tickle tickle tickle them. DS loves peek a boo so I do that and make different silly faces each time.

My dh can make any kind of funny noise and they will laugh at him, me on the other hand I have to work really hard to get laughs out. He makes the crazy fake sneeze sound and they will just go crazy.

Oh so embarrassing! Mine LOVE when I sing Amy Winehouse Rehab ... they look at me real serious when I sing "They try to make me go to rehab" but then when I say "But I said, No, no, no" they crack up! Probably not the most appropriate song, but they love it!

We danced last night to the Pussycat Dolls' version of Santa Baby - sexy poledancing moves and all. Tom thought it was great, Jack looked at me like he was concerned for my sanity. We'll try the Eartha Kitt version tonight...

just sticking out my tongue at DD makes her crack up - also I'll get near their ear and go "num num num" like I'm nibbling on them...oh and ticklish! both are deathly ticklish right at their hipbones!

They like to be "chased". Even when they were tiny babies and just learned to crawl they thought it was hilarious if I crawled around behind them and pretended I couldn't catch them. It was killer on the knees though!

We sing baby got back too!! My oldest kids know the words up until the "a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face..." and to them the song magically ends right there! LOL My sister danced around in a circle for my older DD, while shaking her booty and arms waving in the air... yes yes I got it all on video... HILARIOUS! I think I will play it at her wedding LOL. The twins particularly love when I "eat their fee" that brings on the giggles at our house.

I'll play like a marionette puppet and get into all kinds of positions and make faces. I use my hands and feet like I have string pulling them. I sing in the most horrendous voice known to man and I act out the songs. I lay in the baby yard with them and they'll pull up nana's shirt to show my belly and blow rasberries on my tummy and one plays my tummy like a drum. Nothing is too goofy or embarrassing if they want to do it and it keeps them happy. We play for hours and hours each day. The only time we're not playing is during feeding and napping - if they're awake we're playing. I have a long/wide L shaped hallway and lots of times we'll go in there and shut all the doors. We have the baby races. I put them down and the three of us crawl as fast as we can up and down the halls. They've learned that the hall is so caverness, with the doors all shut if they yell it amplifies and echos, so at any given time you can hear us all in the hallway screeching and giggling. At the end of the day when their mommy gets home I am exhausted from playing and so are they. I'm just so much enjoying these babies. I worked when my girls were born and growing up so this is a real treat for me.

That's exactly what spark plugs do. Its the darnedest thing...:)

I like to dance the jig, puppet shows, zerberts, get their goats, tickle gullets, pee pie, throw them in the air (very carefully mind you), ride a little horsie, hang them upside down...etc.

My DD loves to slow dance to slow country music. This is a nightly ritual before bed. I am quite fond of it too...

The wheels on the bus go
    round and round

You should consider incorporating "the routine" Ross and Monica did on Dick Clark's Rockin' New years. That would impress. DH has to learn it too though. Im sure he's hip to it though...

To anyone who wants to spruce up Wheels on the bus a bit, try this...

Substitute all words starting with a W with a V
Substitute all words starting with a TH with a Z
Roll you tongue for all words starting with a R

    Ex...

Ze Vheels on Ze bus go R-R-Round and R-R-Round

It takes some practice to roll the Rs but the babies will love it. You will sound like a drunken German with a horrible English accent. Fun for the whole family.
