What's the best...

We are planning on potty training my DS this summer and will need to take the gates down so he has access to the bathroom upstairs (no main level potty) and in order to do this I need to re-do some of the childproofing on kitchen and bathroom cabinets as many of them came off or were impossible to use so got ripped of in bad DH, stressed morning routine, temper.

I want to find out which ones you use and like/easy to install for cabinet doors and drawers.

 

Tot locks are great but expensive and kind of a pain to install. The only way to open the cabinet is with a special tot lock release magnet. Yes, you can buy extra release magnets to place around in different areas. The great thing is the kids can't break the lock. We found them at babies r us. You can also get them from the one step ahead website/catalog. HTH!

 

I agree with the PP. I also like that they have an on/off switch so when you're done needing locks, you can leave them in place for a future family if you sell your house. Can you consolidate stuff as much as possible to minimize the number of locks you need to install? Good luck!

 

We got our Tot Locks at Home Depot, I think. I can't remember if they were any cheaper... I think they were a little...

I like Ikea's locks. It works great in our kitchen. They're very cheap as well.

I have quite a few tot locks in packaging that I can sell you for a bit less if you want.
