I was just looking at wagons online at like Wal-Mart and Toys 'R' Us. I CAN NOT BELIEVE that the classic red wagon is over $100!!!!! You've GOT TO BE KIDDING! Here I was thinking maybe 20 or 30 bucks and we'd be able to get our kids a few outdoor toys for the summer, but now...... I think they'll be lucky to get the WAGON.
I'm with you. I've been floored over how much those plastic play houses are. i just don't get it. FWIW, we got a Step 2 wagon at Menard's (like Home Depot if you don't have them) for $45. Not as cute as the classic, but probably more comfortable. I know Little Tikes makes one too.
We have the little red Radio Flyer plastic one that we got at Target for $50 on sale. It's really great!

I think the Little Tikes ones are substantially cheaper, and they look very sturdy. They're just not red. ETA: And we have the Radio Flyer Pathfinder too and really like it, though I think my parents paid more like $70 for it.
We have the plastic Radio Flyer from Walmart also. Think we paid $60 for it. The boys love it. You might check your local craigslist. There's all kinds of stuff posted on there!
You might want to watch yardsale listings for the large outdoor toys. When we were looking for a playhouse for the kids, found lots listed in yardsales. They just go in the first 2 mins of the yardsale, so get there early. Marissa
We have the Radio Flyer Pathfinder too. It was a 1st birthday gift from my parents, but I think it was around $70 (not on sale).
I am cheap thats why I asked my Mother to but it for Christmas last year she got the radio Flyer with the canopy top I lve that wagon and so do they. I think any wagon would be a hit
