what would you have done?

They woke up from their last nap an hour earlier than I had hoped and dh was with them. I wasn't here (food shopping) so I am not sure if they could have been coaxed to go back to sleep or not (he says no). And then it took him 45 minutes to get them ready to eat, when they should have eaten asap when they got up(bottles are premade, they needed diaper changes and meds). So they were ready for another nap an hour and a half before bedtime. So instead of letting them take that nap and risk either them not eating "dinner" (solids and bottle) and being up at 3am hungry, I fed them about 45 minutes early and let them fall asleep for the night (except for the 9pm bottle they get) early. I know they will probably be up early as they are every day but I am hoping I did the right thing here. From your experiences, what would you have done? Did I do ok? I just pray that they sleep through the night and don't get up earlier than usual.

Sometimes when we get messed up with feedings and/or naps I cheat by giving them a smaller bottle so they'll get hungry sooner. Say they need to eat at 5 (they eat every three hours but sometimes things get pushed back) but I don't want them up until 8 for their next feeding, I give them 5 ounces at 5 instead of their usual 8 so they'll be hungry again by 7. Sneaky I know! I let mine have a little cat nap in the early evening, as long as their up 90 minutes before I intend them to settle down for bed it's fine.

I would have done the same thing! I kind of did the same thing today, they seem to be in the process of going from three naps to two, and they woke from their 2nd nap around 240, so I just did tubtime a little earlier and they were exhausted and dropped right to sleep at 630. You gotta just go with the flow!!!!

Ok, well they slept through the night but they were up for the day at 4am!!! I got them to go back down around 5:30ish after a bottle but they only slept for 45 minutes. We had to go to church this morning (in our religion you have to bring them for communion the 2 weeks following the christening), ds slept in the car on the way there and dd fell alseep in her godmothers arms for about 20 minutes and that was it. I just finally got them to sleep now after trying for an hour. So needless to say, looks like we may run into a similar situation today. Today, I may let them get a late nap and then give them dinner when they wake up and keep them up a little later and then a bottle before bed and we'll see how that works out. I hope they will do ok. This is crazy!!!!
