We are going to a Good Friday service this evening and I'm not sure what to do with the girl's bedtime. They usually go to bed at 6pm but the service doesn't start until 7pm. I was thinking about giving them a third nap, but I'm not sure if they are to old for that or what time I should even do it. I'm planning on giving them a bath before we go so I don't have to worry about that when we get home. I want to just put PJs on and give then a bottle and call it a night. What would you ladies to with the nap thing? Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thank you
Since they are so used to going to bed at 6, will they not just fall asleep when you go. I think I would just do exactly what you normaly do for bedtime, and instead of putting them to bed take them with. Are you taking them to the service, or a babysit??
I'm taking them with us to the service. They won't just fall asleep when we leave, theres to much and to many people to see. They're busy little bodies. If they don't sleep before we go then they won't sleep until we get back home. I do plan on doing what we normally do before bed, we'll give them a bath and get them dresses and leave. I just don't want to tired for tonight.
I would just take them, and hope for the best. I don't think I would add another add, that might cause a new habit... kwim?
Thank you everyone I think I'll just hope for the best. QUOTE that might cause a new habit You make a good point.
It might be a little late since it is getting close to six - I would give them that nap. It will throw their schedule off but they won't be as tired during the service. I know my kids melt down when they are tired! Have fun at the service and have a great holiday weekend! Angel
I vote for a car nap for at least a 1/2 hour prior. I know it sounds like a pain but works for us everytime we need to go somewhere that will interfere with their naps during the day. We have had a strict 6-6:30 bedtime since 4 months. We had them out until 8 p.m. the other night they did GREAT, slept like they normally do that night and got right back on track the next day. I have read that if you keep things consistent, nights like this are possible every now and then.
