What will your new little one sleep in?

Just curious what your new little one will be sleeping in while in your room? If you have read any of my other posts, we will eventually be moving the twins and the baby in a room together. For the first several months the baby will be in with us. With our oldest ds we used a cradle, but no longer have it available. For the twins we used the pack and play, but they weren't in it very long before we seperated them and moved them to their own beds (probably about 4-6 weeks after they came home - they were in the hopital about a month). We still have the pack and play, but I am a little concerned about using it for any extended period of time. Do you think it is okay to use basically as a bed for months? I wasn't sure if there was enough support or not. If you don't mind, please share your plan. THANKS

With Liam, we used the PNP for about 3-4 months without a problem.

We might have the baby in our room for a bit, but it will be in a PNP b/c we got rid of our bassinet. we only had the twins in our room for 3 weeks (and that was mostly b/c Morgan was on a monitor and it would make me mad when it went off and I wans't nearby...not mad, more paranoid...lol). Then, after 3 weeks I got over it and moved them too the nursery and I slept MUCH better not having to listen to every grunt and groan they made all night long...I swear a mother can hear EVERYTHING when dad sleeps right through it...lol!

Chloe and Cole slept in travel pack 'n plays for 7 months in our room (DH was too nervous to move them out (even though he never heard them like I did)). So we will be using the same bed for the new baby. They were just fine in them.

She'll be in a PNP in our room...I don't know how long. I'm really nervous about it. I've never been able to last long with my babies in my room..they just keep me awake too much. But I'm nervous to put her in the room with my ds. (the girls share a room already...and ds is still in the "nursery" in a toddler bed.) I think my only alternative is to put his toddler bed in with the girls...but he's such a stinker I think if he and my older dd were in the same room they'd really be naughty. They just feed off each other. not to mention they might kill each other. The girls behave well when they are together, for the most part. Anyway, until I can be sure that my ds won't throw toys or blankets in the crib, or try to climb in the crib...or until I can at least feel like she's big enough to "survive" these loving attempts I think she'll have to be in our room. ugh. I know the top part of the PNP you are only supposed to use until like 15lbs...or something like that... it made it difficult to use the same one with the twins b/c of their combined weight...but hopefully I'll get a longer use out of that b/c I hate bending all the way over to the bottom of the PNP to get them.

Those co-sleepers look really cool..but at this point, on kid #4 buying pricey equipment is out of the question no matter how cool.

We're going to use a PNP in our room. I have a bassinette for during the day to be used downstairs. But, our new bedroom (which should be done in a few weeks!!) is going to be upstairs. So, I figured it would be easier to keep the PNP set up upstairs. It will be easier since there is the changing table part of the PNP too.

I am in the minority here, but I don't plan on having the baby in my room. We put our twins in their room right away. I think it helped us all sleep better. This new baby will have to share a room with our "guest room". So, I'm imagining that when we do have visitors, we will just move the baby into our room in a pack and play.

Right now she is sleeping in her bassinet beside the bed. Then when she grows out of it I plan on putting her in her crib.
