What will you put in their baskets?

Now that we've started to cover what we're doing and what we will put in the plastic eggs, I was wondering what you plan to fill their baskets with?

We have done sunglasses and books every year, and then other stuff. The first year we did stuffed bunnies and some Puffs. Last year we did some plastic necklaces and bracelets, and some ballerina skirts.

This year we're going to do the usual books and sunglasses and then I think some more crayons, a small bag of M&M's, and DH wants to put in some harmonicas.

I just bought all my basket stuffers. I got them little posable bunny things, sunglasses, bubble toys for outside, little bean bag balls in the shape of sports balls, various plastic eggs with goodies inside, & some other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting.

My neices are our Goddaughters, so we make them a basket every year, too. I put some side walk chalk in there, those little capsule things that you drop into water & they make sponge shapes, an egg full of tattoos, sunglasses, a bubble outside thing, & other little trinkets.

At Target, they have a huge selection of little basket stuffers for a DOLLAR. Other things were still cheap in that section, too. I'd check it out!

We don't have huge little baskets, so this year each is getting a coloring book and new crayons, some sidewalk chalk, bubbles and funny sunglasses. We will also give them each a little chocolate bunny.

Harmonicas? Is he crazy? LOL! I bet your girls will love them! I was thinking of asking this same question! LOL! My boys will be 17 months old and I don't want to put candy in there as I know they will devour it all up! I'd do books-but we have hundreds! I was thinking some type of snack food and I want to get them some safari animals/farm animals. They LOVE animals and know a lot so I was thinking of getting one of those $10 buckets at TRU and putting them in their basket. Part of me wants to get BOTH farm/safari, but that may be too much. We'll see...

Oh! Bubbles! I'll get some bubbles-as they love them! Can't wait to hear what others plan on doing! I'd do play-doh-as I am eager for a new "activity" but I am afraid they are still too young for it.

I hadn't thought about it! I think it might be fun to do Easter baskets since maybe they are old enough now to be excited about new toys in a basket? Up until this point we haven't really done any gifts from DH and I b/c they don't understand that they're getting something new anyway, kwim? We've been waiting to start until they "get it" so maybe now is the time?

We will probably give them each a bunny. (stuffed, not real) And maybe a book about Easter.

I was also going to suggest the Dollar spot at Target! :) They have quite a few cool things!

I haven't bought much for their baskets yet, but I love the sunglasses idea! I was already going to get them some necklaces and bracelets because they love getting "pretty".

Megan- I let my girls play with playdoh outside a couple of weeks ago, and they were more thrilled with the little cups it comes in!

    Keep the idea's coming!!

He has one harmonica that they love to play with. He also has bongos and a guitar, so the mornings he is with them while I'm working, they play their "band". He said he would love for them to have their own harmonica since they love it.
I don't think they are too young for play-doh. Now is about the time I started with my girls. It took some reminding not to eat it at first. Think of different things around the kitchen they can use to "poke" it, my girls loved doing that early on.

I bet they will get it this year. My girls were about 17 months last year and loved their baskets!

My boys love Word World, so I got them the Dog and Duck for their baskets. I got the baskets at the Dollar Spot at Target. I also got them kid sized hooded towels. One is a duck the other a lion. So one of the baskets will be Duck themed (probably Ryan's since he quacks all day!). Barnes and Noble has a bunch of Easter board books for under $5 so I picked up two of those as well. My boys have recently gotten excited with their Little People Farm so I got them each tubes of animals/people for it. I think that's all that will fit! I'm so excited to be entering the phase where they are excited about gifts and holidays!

Olivia will probably get one of those plastic bath books (b/c she chews the cardboard ones), Puffs, crackers, probably sunglasses and some summer clothes.
