okay..so in my spare time... which I have too much of apparently... I've become parinoid about the fact that my hcg levels were 21,000 yesterday...when technically I should have been only 5wks 3days... I know you can't really go by those levels...and I know u/s are a much better confirmation...but indulge my parinoid curiosity....and let me know, if you know, what your hcg levels were at either 5 or 6 weeks... or anywhere in that time frame.... Just curious.... They only saw one sac, but we all know that might mean nothing.... on the other hand hcg levels that are too high can also be a sign of something being wrong... They didn't see a hb on my u/s yesterday...and were it not for the bleeding episoide I had I wouldn't even be thinking about this...but now I'm still obsessing over it...and won't get any good answers for another two weeks.

If there is one thing I have learned with all I have been through with my pgs its that levels can vary SOO much. Being off by 2-3 days of ovulating can make such a difference. My levels were only followed until 15dpo (so 4w1d)
    12dpo 346
    15dpo 1135
So by 5 weeks if they kept doubling every 2 days (which it usually slows down after a certain number) it would have been abou 16,000 by 5w3d. Oh and I was pg with quads...not to scare you!!!
It does seem like a high number but on another board I post on (ovusoft.com/forum) they have a thread with really high beta numbers and a thread for really low betas... (its either on the pg support board or the hpt/opk board)

    HTH!!! Congrats and good luck!

    Okay, deep breath!

I can't remember my exact levels -- and just can't get off the couch to go look, LOL -- but I know they were crazily high with my daughter, who we know was just a singleton, no vanishing twin or anything like that (had fertility treatment, so had u/s very early). The doctor said she must just be a *robust* baby, heehee. Anyway, VERY high levels, but perfectly normal singleton.

With these munchkins, my levels were off-the-charts high.....but I started off with triplets, and lost one later.

I think betas can vary so much -- and, it's not so much the number, but the doubling time....

The "wrong" thing you're thinking off is a molar pregnancy. It's when something continues to grow rapidly in your uterus, but it's not really a baby....just a growth of some sort. But this is SO VERY RARE, so it needn't even be on your mind! You can make yourself sick researching these things.

Sending good vibes your way -- hope you get exactly the news you want in two weeks!

after the first fourteen days my HCG was 5000, on day 16 it was 9900. After that at 5 weeks they did the ultrasound and found 2 sacs with 2 heartbeats. At 6 weeks they again did an ultrasound and confirmed it is a twin pregnancy.

I am now 24 weeks and 3 days pregnant with fraternal twins (we did IVF). until week 20 I was enjoying my pregnancy - i had put on 24 pounds until then - (i am 5'2 and was 125 pounds prepregnancy), then I had a very bad heartburns, which also caused a bad throat infection, and reignited my asthma and I also got a uti. so now I am taking a pump for asthma and zantac for my heartburn. Weight gain has slowed down as it is tough to keep food down. Otherwise I am still enjoying my pregnancy.

    best of luck to you.

Mine were 250 at 16dpo, 455 at 18dpo and 1940 at 21dpo. I had an u/s around the same time you did and only one sac was seen. When I had another u/s at 7w5d they found the twins.

thanks girls... although I'm not sure if I'm more or less nervous now! hee hee. I was a little worried over the whole molar pg...but my mom brought up a good point, I had an u/s and they would have been able to tell right away that it was molar right?... She read on some website that molar pg show up as some kind of solid mass...and the technician definitely referred to a yoke sac...so I was probably worrying over nothing. I'm still not quite convinced that it's "only" one b/c I've been feeling pg so much earlier... Even with my first dd who was a healthy 8lbs I didn't feel pg until 8 weeks....so I don't think my hcg levels were this high with her. I wish I knew what my levels were with her, then I would have a sort of baseline to compare myself to! Oh well, I'm probably just over analyzing as usual....I'm trying to forget that I had any bleeding...and trying to forget that my levels were pretty high.

I just went to check and with the twins I was 111,000 at 6 weeks. I didn't know with any of my singletons so I have nothing to compare to. Try not to worry too much! :icon_biggrin:

O.K., let's jog the ol' memory here - our B/G twins, which will be 26 weeks tomorrow, were conceived via IVF so my HCG levels were obviously monitored closely after transfer. Doctor transfered two 5-day blastocysts on October 31st (so yep, got 2 out of 2 so he chose well!). My first level reading was 316 (on day 8 post transfer). Second reading two days later was 1,659. We did one more reading the following week on day 14 post transfer and level was 12,979. But as we know, levels vary and can be interpreted differently for everyone and a healthy singleton can post similarly high levels as well .... :)

I don't remember the numbers as much as the doubling time. We did draws in my forth week and HCG was doubling every 17.8 hrs. I was suspicious of either molar or twins. Turns out twins it was.

Mine were high with this pg. At 17dpo, they were 629 and they TRIPLED 2 days later! So, I was really nervous during my 1st u/s on Monday. Just 1 though. You really can't go by them and your u/s was far too early to see or hear the HB. At 6w4d, we could see the flashing but could just barely make out the sound. I can't wait to go back on the 16th.

There is no way to confirm a twin pregnancy with these levels. Mine were high, but I heard people who had way higher and only carried 1 ... but it could be ...

At 5w4d, 24dpo, mine was 10,200, just outside the range.

Mine is on the 19th..so we are just a little bit apart here with dates and u/s.... I almost wish I would have held off on the appt this week. I knew if I waited a little longer there might be a better chance to see the hb...but the nurse at the office really wanted me in right away.

thanks for all the reassurance girls! My corpus luteum has also turned into a cyst, which isn't too unusual..so maybe when that happens hcg levels might go higher??... I probably have some kind of massive c.l. pumping out hormones like crazy.

Mine was taken at 12 dpo and 14dpo so I don't really have much to compare to yours... but

    12dpo - 22
    14dpo - 81
    It almost quadropled.

I would have been 3 weeks and 5 days and 4 weeks.
    If I doubled every 2 days, it'd have been 2592 at 5w3d
But if it kept at the x4 rate, it'd have been 20,783
