i'm curious (as a first time mom and clueless about milestones) what everyone's twinks are/have done at 7 weeks of age....i mean what should i expect out them at this age other than sleeping and eating?

should they be smiling more? more alert? focusing? rolling over? spending how much time doing tummy time?? what should/can i be doing to stimulate them more, or should i just let them sleep???

    thanks!

The first 3 months is a blur at this point. My only advice is let them sleep and enjoy every second you can while they are that small and portable! Hold them and cuddle them and enjoy all the time you have now while they sleep, in a couple of months they will be more alert and need to be entertained.

My Lo's will be one years old in 3.5 weeks and I can't believe how fast it went! It seriously flew by!!

At 7 weeks mine ate and slept all time. They weren't even smiling at all. We weren't doing too much tummy time due to reflux.

I'm trying to remember back to then. From what I recall, by that time they were a little more alert, but still sleeping a lot. I'm pretty sure they were NOT rolling over (occasionally one would roll from tummy to back, but it was always by mistake, and only because their big old heads pushed them over). At that point, they smiled occasionally, but only in reaction to me or my husband, never at each other or other stuff - and even then, it was not consistent for months really. (I don't think their first smiles were until 6 weeks!) Relax (as much as you can) and enjoy, they'll be up and alert before you know it!

Those times were a total haze, but mine pretty much ate and slept as well. We did a little bit of tummy time but mine hated it, so it was for only a minute (if that). I say keep doing what your doing :good:

Eating, sleeping, crying, more crying, staring at the ceiling fan.

    That's about it.

They're not supposed to be doing anything else yet. In a few weeks you might get a smile!

Eat, sleep, poop. That was about it at 7 weeks. :pardon:

Mine were mostly eating, sleeping and pooping, but they were also starting to smile a lot, push up on their forearms, turn their heads from side to side, and coo. Their smiles were sorta practice smiles at that stage - not really in response to anything. They weren't yet interested in toys, but they started noticing mobiles and music around that time. They also loved loved loved ceiling fans. They would look up toward the ceiling every time I carried them into a new room. The pedi said this is what they should be doing by two months. My babies were almost full-term though (born at 38 weeks).

Hi! Mine are practically the same age as yours! So far, mine are smiling in response to my smile, cooing, sleeping, and hating tummy time, although I force them at least once a day. My son will lift his head and legs, during tummy time, my daughter just screams in dismay. No rolling over yet, as it is a bit early for that.
I can't wait for the baby giggles! That was the best sound ever with my older daughter!

    Good luck to you!

Mine eat, sleep, poop, smile, sometimes coo, and stare at the ceiling fan or mini blinds. They get really fascinated if I take them somewhere besides the house. They love looking around new places (the park, chick fil-a were hits). When we do tummy time they both can raise their head and push themselves over. they also use their arms to bat at toys on the toy bars.

Mine will be 2 tomorrow and I 3rd this! At 7 weeks I had finally figured out a good feeding schedule for them and started getting my confidence with them. Maybe a smile here or there, but it was hard to tell if it was just gas or not! I'm leaning more towards gas. Oh the ceiling fan was the best!!

They were doing about as much as they were doing when they were born. They did have only slightly more focus ability. By 9 weeks we got a smile out of them. 11 weeks a lot more smiles and coos. 12 weeks finding there hands. It all comes and every baby is different.

At 7 wks mine were screaming. Well, actually it had started getting better by then, but still, my DD had colic, and spent a good deal of her time crying. They both were smiling, but not the big baby grins yet. The only thing they really liked was being held, and swinging. I didn't do tummy time until about 2 months.
