I am almost 15 weeks and have told some people about our twins but we are anxious to talk freely to other friends about this. My husband is particularly excited!!! We were waiting until we felt like we were out of the woods, so to speak. I had a m/c a year ago and was nervous. I was also nervous about loosing one of the twins, of course.

I was wondering when all of you felt comfortable sharing the good news about the twins coming????

I shoudl ad, we are having an appointment with OB tomorrow but no U/S. I was thinking that if all sounds well tomorrow, we would tell our friends about this.

    Thank you.

Congratulations! Geez, we found out at six weeks and told everyone. It was our first and long-awaited pg. Everything looked so promising on ultrasound and blood levels that we felt comfortable sharing with everyone.

We told everyone the day we found at 8w3d. We had seen both heartbeats and it wasn't until after we told everyone that I started reading about what could go wrong. I guess I would have wanted their support if something did happen.

Since we did IVF, we told everyone as soon as we found out. I think I was 2 weeks along.

With this pregnancy, I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks and waited until my OB appt at 8 weeks to tell everyone. That was a long two weeks. I am not good at keeping secrets!

My husband and I told all of our family and close friends that we were pregnant with twins the day we found out. I was 7 weeks and 5 days. I was a teacher and I did not tell my students or the other people I worked with until after my 12 weeks appointment when we thought we were out of the woods.

Told mom’s the day we found out at 5 ½ weeks (I called my mom on the car ride home), told everyone else at 10 weeks when we saw them dance on the u/s… I had lost a pregnancy and had not told anyone I was prego… it was then hard for everyone to know why I was so depressed, so I think that’s why I told before we were technically out of the woods… it was the hardest to keep from my son… he was really concerned why I was sick so long, he kept asking me to go to the Dr to get better… so I finally told him I might be pregnant, but won’t know for sure until I see the Dr so we need to be hush hush until I go…

We told everyone immediately. I can understand why you would want to wait. A close friend of mine had a miscarriage last year and waited until her second trimester to share the news that she was pregnant. My husband, however, didn't want me to start getting things for the babies until we were in the last trimester. We didn't even pick names until the very end for fear of something happening.

We didn't tell pretty much anyone (parents included) until 8 weeks. Since we were pg with quads we didn't know what kind of reaction we would get. My mil said she could already tell bc I had a belly. My mom was over the moon. We didn't tell any friends or anything really until 14 weeks when it was just twins and they told us they were boys (had a cvs test). I told everyone (via e-mail) that we were having a boy...showed a pic of baby a.....and another boy....showed pics of baby b. Half the people didn't see the "and another" in the middle of the pics so they didn't get it. Of course I told everyone it was 100% boys bc of the cvs...so sent out another e-mail at 18 weeks saying it was boy/girl...

We found out at 5.5 weeks. My doc told me not to tell the world because we had no heartbeats. I think I told my husband, and his brother who just happened to be here, and within a few days my mom. Everyone else we waited until we were 11 or 12 weeks, after we new we had two good and healthy babies with nice strong heartbeats!

i'm 14 weeks and i am only now starting to tell people i'm pregnant. i am keeping the knowledge of twins close to the vest though. i have told some close friends that see me all the time and know we did IVF but i'm keeping the general public out of it. part of it is fear that something could still go wrong (we are actually awaiting results that could say we need an amnio for one of the babies) but a bigger part of it is the highly inappropriate questions people ask once they hear one is expecting twins. i'm not even a little embarrassed or ashamed that we needed to do IVF but i also have no desire to discuss it with my whole community. that being said, being that i am gigantic (this is not an exaggeration) i imagine people will figure it out and ask me but for now we aren't saying anything :).

I completely understand how you feel. :hug99: I had a m/c in March of last year and I was devastated. I had told the children I care for at my daycare and it was difficult to explain it to them so I did wait until I knew it was all good and we weren't concerned any longer about m/c, before I told the children this time. I know I held my breath from the time I found out until my second u/s at 14 weeks. At that point both boys were doing great, and I really felt that it would all work out this time. And it did! I am sure it will for you, too. Chances of m/c drop so much after 12 weeks and if you are already past that, it should be fine! Congratulations!

One of my friends was with me when I went to the drs to find out if I was or not as she thought I was and apparently she was right as I now have two babies. Within a couple of days I had told everyone. When I found out I was having twins at 6 weeks everyone got another call to let them know not only was I pregnant but that I was having two at once. I am not good at keeping secrets at all.

We weren't going to tell anyone until about 15 - 16 weeks, but found out we were having twins, and every family member got called that same day (11-12 weeks). We told people other than family about 16 weeks.

I found out i was pregnant at 10 weeks and told everyone i worked with (after a negative pregnancy test, an inconclusive one and then finally positive one which took about 4 blooming weeks)! Then had my 12 week scan and found out it was twins and i think i told nearly everyone i saw lol. I was so excited x

We told everyone at 12 weeks - once I hit the 2nd trimester mark. We had also just found out "it's twins". We waited until my first doctors appointment and u/s.

We were originally pregnant with triplets, and we told everyone at 10 weeks. We lost one shortly after that, so I wish we had waited to the second trimester to tell everyone (but we were just so excited it was hard to keep it in).

We told close family and friends (who all knew we were doing IVF, but didn't know the exact timetable) that we were pregnant at 6 weeks, right after the first ultrasound. We started telling the world at large around 10 weeks, because I was starting to show and there was really no hiding it.

But I managed not to tell it was twins until 14 weeks or so. At that point, my colleague asked me point-blank "Do you have more than one in there?" and I figured I'd rather fess up than having people whispering behind my back.

I wanted to wait till 16 weeks or so, because I had also had a previous loss, but having twins made that impossible.

We told everyone that day - 13 wks. We'd let our family know about the pregnancy at 7 wks, and coworkers and friends at 12-13 wks.

Thank you for all of your replies. I cant believe it but, I found out today that I had miscounted my date and I am one week less than I thought I was. So, we are 13 weeks and 4 days. Anyway, we are going to spread the word to more of our friends and family beginning today. We had an appointment today and the doctor was pretty sure that she heard both heart beats. We feel pretty confident and want to talk about it. We are excited for the phone calls!

It is really fun to ready everyones responses.....

I found out at 5 weeks I was pregnant. We told immediate family then. At 8 weeks I had my first ultrasound. Twins!! We told everybody then. I know it was early, but I couldn't keep it secret any longer!!
