At 8 weeks ... Only because I had a m/c 6 months before, was in a car accident when I was 6 weeks pregnant with the twins and I started to bleed my previous doc would not give me an U/S said my insurance would only give one at 12 weeks, needless to say I switched docs right away.

 

almost 12 weeks at the Nuchal Transluceny ultrasound!

Boy was I glad DH came with me!

 

Week 19!! It was our ultrasound to find out the sex of our "baby". Boy were we shocked to see TWO heads!

 

I found out at 6 weeks. (We did IVF so they routinuely do and u/s that early to see how many are there.)

 

Found out it was multiples at 4w5d.

 

8.5. My OB does an ultrasound routinely between 8 & 10 weeks to date the pregnancy and just to be sure all is well.

 

12 weeks - at my first OB appointment. Boy, were we shocked!!

I just cant get over it.. I saw baby A just moving around but baby B was just there.. I just had someone that had twins (daddy) say that he thought 9 weeks was to early to know if it was twins...

 

6 weeks - what a crazy, crazy ride . . .

 

5 ½ weeks.

I had just found out the day before I was pregnant and since it wasn’t planned my Dr wanted me to get an u/s … he thought I was more like 8 weeks due to my hormone level… nope… identical twins… I will ALWAYS remember that moment :shok:

 

7 weeks 2 days-
we had a viability ultrasound to be released from our RE, and there they were, two sacs and two h/bs!

 

11 weeks 2 days

13 weeks 6 days.....since I am of "advanced maternal age" (39) they wanted to do an end of first tri u/s just to check. The previous visit at 11 weeks we had heard just 1 heartbeat! My DH was with me - thank goodness!! I cried (a happy (but shocked) cry) and he just said, "cool." :itwins_boys:

 

I was 9 weeks, but we thought I was 13. I went in for my first u/s and got a HUGE surprise!

 

7 weeks and 5 days. Actually had naturally conceived triplets (lost one around at end of first trimester). We were very shocked even though multiples run in my family (I am a twin myself).

Like you I had naturally conceived triplets. I lost the first one at around 2 months. We were also shocked and twins run in our family as well. I was almost 15 weeks when I found out thougH!

 

6.5 weeks we found out!

 

I was 5.5 weeks- I was there all by myself. I was having the ultrasound just to be sure how far along I was- since I knew I didn't get pregnant when they thought- this happened about 6 weeks after I had my last period!!! What a shock- never even THOUGHT it could be twins

 

8 weeks. I freaked out so bad that the tech had to call a code. hehe :blush:

 

Found out at 12 weeks. I had been postponing starting my prenatal care and that was my first appointment. The doctor did a quick sweep across my belly and I saw to heads go by. Before I could say anything, the doctor said, "A little surprise - it's twins!" My husband and I looked at each other a minute with blank stares. The doctor thought maybe we were upset and said, "Are you okay? Do you need counseling?" We told him that we were fine, happy but very surprised.

 

6w2d and confirmed the 2nd hb (it wasn't quite there yet) at 7w6d

 

My first set we found out at 8w1d because of IVF. They like u/s's at about 6 weeks but it was around the holidays and all the RE's were on vacation it seemed! My second set (surprise) I found out when *I* thought I was 8 week but they measured about 7 at a 'growth u/s'.

 

I WAS 10 WEEKS WHEN I HAD MY FIRST SONO AND FOUND OUT IT WAS TWINS

 

week 5 they saw 2 sacs - week 7 they found 2 HB's - I've been freaking ever since!

 

9 weeks- such an incredible gift!

 

13 weeks; my first visit with the new OB. What a shocker! Oh, and my old OB had told me he didn't think I was as far along as I thought I was . . . . um, hello idiot! I measured 17 wks at 13 wks!

 

i had bleeding at 6 wks and a u/s to make sure this pg was viable i mc the month before; i was shocked when she said its twins!

 

I found out at my first prenatal appointment at 9 weeks. I will be 16 weeks next week.

 

Are you sitting down? LOL DH & I found out at almost 21 weeks. :blink: That was my 2nd pregnancy. Since the first pregnancy was normal, my first U/S was not scheduled until 20 weeks. But that fell right into the Christmas and New Year holidays so I had to wait until I was almost 21 weeks... I KNEW I was too big, but just thought my due date was totally off since I had just weened Gregory from nursing and did not have regular cycles yet. When I accidentally got pregnant with the twins, Gregory was only about 8 months old..

 

Glad I was sitting down 21 weeks I would have passed out..

 

I found out at 6 weeks - my first OB visit. My doctor has an ultrasound in her office so they do an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. My husband was at a conference in Houston so I took a picture of the ultrasound picture with my camera phone and sent it to him. I waited for him to call me, but when I didn't hear from him I called him and asked if he got the picture. He said, "Yea it's just an ultrasound picture." I asked him if he knew what he was looking at and he said, "No." I told him it was twins. It was like that cell phone commerical where you can't hear anything on the other line and you think the call was dropped. I said ""Hello, are you still there?" He just sat there stunned. The guy he went down there with said he turned ghost white. Needless to say he has come around to the idea now and is very excited and very overprotective of me and the babies now.
