It seems like I didn't feel Catherine and Andrew until about 20 weeks or so. I'm 17 weeks now and when I had surgery this week the Drs and nurses kept asking me if I was still feeling the baby move ok, etc. I told them that I hadn't felt the baby yet and they all acted like I should be by now! Anyone else not feel the baby at 17 weeks?

It is totally normal not to feel them until 20 weeks or so...I love how doctors can make us more nervous, shouldn't they know better than to mess with a pregnant woman [IMG]

I didn't feel movement until I was close to 20 weeks. My doctor kept reassuring me it was completely normal. So don't worry... you'll be feeling movement soon!

I was feeling my boys at 16 weeks. But i didn't know what it was. I thought it was gas [IMG]

It wasn't until 18-19 weeks that I could recognize that what I was feeling was the babies. It was many weeks later that it was consistant.

I felt both pregnancies pretty early, at 13 weeks or so. I hear that a lot of people don't feel it until 18 weeks or later.

I started feeling the girls move at around 16 weeks, but at a 19 week call to my OB's office regarding low fetal movement the nurse there said I was nuts for even thinking I could feel them yet. I explained to her I had been feeling them move for 3 weeks already and she laughed and said it was impossible. Uh hello, unless I swallowed a litter of kittens, something is moving around in there! LOL.

    20 weeks for me.
    Not consistent until 22 weeks.
    I'm sure everything is fine!

I felt them all pretty early. Ainsely and Sierra were at 16 weeks and this baby I felt at about 14.6 weeks. Since you didn't feel the twins until later in pregnancy, then I would think you'd feel your singleton a little later too. It could happen any day now!

I was about 18 weeks with Isabel and with the twins, I was 13 weeks. I think that's totally normal to not feel the baby at 17 weeks. I'm surprised that they were surprised. I think most people start feeling movement around 20 weeks or so.

I felt the flutters bet 16-17 and the first true 'kicks' around 19/20. I'm 22 wks now and I feel them mostly when I'm on my side. I was alittle worried at firt because I couldn't feel them move but the peri said it was because one placenta was post & the other ant. That seems to have alot to do with it...don't worry...I'm sure they are fine, just being alittle lazy [IMG]

I felt them for the first time around 18 weeks, but didn't feel them again for 3 more weeks. It kind of had me scared and I started thinking that I hadn't felt them in the first place. I would say just in the last few weeks (23-24) I have felt them every day.

Going by the fact that you didn't feel your others until 20 weeks, I'd say you're just fine.

With DD, I felt her for sure by 15 weeks. With my last twins, I started feeling them a little at 13 weeks, but just tiny little flutters. Again, by 15 weeks I could tell it was them. This time, again, I've felt some faint flutters just a few times and I hope to start feeling them more in about a week. I get worried already and I'm only 14.5 wks. [IMG]

A friend of mine is preggo right now with her third. And she didn't feel this one until much later than the other two!!

I think it was closer to 20 weeks and probably 22-23 weeks before I felt them all the time.

With my last pregnancy (pregnancy 6) I felt movement somewhere between 22-25 weeks but I was worried because it was taking awhile. This pregnancy (my seventh pregnancy) I felt movement at 11 weeks and it just got stronger from there. I'm 23 weeks now and the baby's really strong and energetic moving all over the place [IMG]

You're fine. My doc said 18 - 22 weeks for first movement is normal (knowing that every pgcy is different). I felt them first at about 20 weeks (I think, of course i didn't write it down, so who remembers?), but nothing 'fluttery' about it. I'm almost 24 weeks and feel them pretty regularly; but of course as soon as a few hours or half day go by and i don't feel them i start to freak out. (DH felt a kick for the first time on New YEars, which was so sweet - his expression!)

    Don't worry, you're on target.

I had started to get stressed out that something was wrong with the baby when I wasn't feeling any movement at 19 weeks-school was out and I had time to worry, lol. I had an awful few days until the u/s wondering what we would find out. Of course, we found out there were two babies and they were both fine and moving around. I felt them for the first time a week later-it became regular around 24 weeks.

  23. I started feeling flutters in this pregnancy around 14 weeks but this was also my fourth pregnancy. But true movements just started a little before 18 weeks but not on a consistent basis. With my third pregnancy which one baby I didn't feel until 20 weeks. My first pregnancy, also one baby, I felt her move at 18 weeks. So as you can tell each pregnancy is different even with the same person.

I'm 17 weeks and haven't felt movement yet. About 2 weeks ago I felt some light fluttering, but it was fleeting and only happened once so I'm pretty doubtful that it was the chitlins. Mr Dr started asking if I'd felt anything about a week ago, but like other posters have said, she reassured me that it's normal not to feel them yet.
