City tap water. The Dr. said it we didn't need to boil it unless we had well water.

I used boiled tap water until 7 months (when I found out I could have stopped boiling at 4 months!) and now I use tap water filtered through a Brita pitcher (we live in an 85-year-old house so lead may be a concern - a Brita relieves my worries and is actually recommended by the city of Toronto for making babies' bottles). I think I was crazy for boiling the water and sterilizing so long. Next time around I won't bother.

I have always boiled the tap water. I just figured why not make sure so from day one and have boiled it and used that.

A Brita relieves my worries and is actually recommended by the city of Toronto for making babies' bottles IF YOUR HOUSE IS OLD (I should have mentioned that).

I stopped boiling and sterilizing because my boys were putting EVERYTHING in their mouths. I remember the day I stopped. On the way home from the mall James leaned over in his stroller, touched the tire of our car, and then popped his hand in his mouth. I got home and started boiling and sterilizing and then I though WHAT AM I DOING? THIS CHILD JUST ATE TIRE GUCK AND I'M BOILING HIS WATER?! I called the doc and she said I could have stopped months ago (or skipped it altogether).

i think i used boiled water for the first 3 months maybe...then i used bottled water...near the very end of the 1st year we used regular tap water.

    it is all personal preference.

Our town water is yellow and smells :gag: So we have always gotten the Nursery water. We do not use the town water supply for anything except to water the animals and wash ourselves and our cloths. The town posted we can't even use it for our fish tank. So we even buy bottled water for our fish.

I used nursery water with Dave. It gave him gas. Ever since I figured that out we've only used plain tap water. There's no need to boil it unless you have a well.

we were using purified water exclusively til our pedi said to add some flouride to the mix. So now some bottles are purified and some are nursery water.
