What was your last meal?

I just read a member's blog who said they had the Olive Garden before labor began. The same thing happened to me. I had dinner from there and at 2am, my water broke.

Does a craving for the Olive Garden signal impending labor?

So, what was the last thing you ate before you went into labor?

 

I had a scheduled c section, so nothing made labor happen...but i had hamburgers and fries. Good stuff!

 

I was induced due to preeclampsia. I can tell you my last meal that morning was probably something simple like a yogurt smoothie. I had all day sickness the ENTIRE pregnancy so it was whatever I felt I could handle for the moment.

Michelle, are we leading a double life? The only difference was that I had a c-section!

 

I wish I had had Olive Garden! I ate Wendy's at noon and didnt have a single bite until noon the next day. I was STARVING!

 

I had been at the hospital alllllll morning (and they didn't let me eat) since I was having some bleeding, they released me and told me to only eat light in case I went into active labor soon, I was so hungry, I didnt care what they said and got a supersized chicken sandwich meal from Burger King, haha. My water broke at 1 am the next morning.

 

I with it was Olive Garden for me too. With the boys I had chocolate cake as my "last meal" :blush: I was scheduled for a c-section the next morning, that's what sounded good so that's what I had.

I can't remember what I ate with my other 2 pregnancies. Both of those deliveries came at unexpected times so I hadn't eaten recently, all I remember was being starving by the time I got food after my c-sections.

 

Let's see, I ate a Chile Relleno Chimichanga (soooooooooo good!) and it came with Green Chile, Refried Beans and Spanish Rice. I followed that with a handful of Tums, then we went for ice cream, I had a Death By Chocolate sundae with everything on it. Then we went and watched Pirates of the Carribean 2. (We were on our last-time-to-ourselves-for-a-long-time-after-the-babies-are-born date.) My water broke 4 hours after the movie ended. Sometimes I think I walked too much that day and that's what started labor.

 

McD's french fries, and a milk shake. Didn't know that would be my last meal, but it was good!

 

I had Mexican food! I CRAVED mexican food when pregnant, and am starting to again.

 

um yyuuumm, I had chinese food. I absolutely had to have mongolian beeg. I NEVER order mongolian beef. Wouldn't you know..I woke up with my plug coming out around 5 AM that next morning. The cutie girls were born that night!!! I haven't had mongolia beef since!

Wow! I am impressed with all of your memories! I have no idea what I ate. I do remember though the last week of the pregnancy, eating chocolate chip and chocolate mint (1 scoop of each!) sundaes with hot fudge and whip cream. I remember saying that once these babies are born, I wont be able to do this anymore!

 

I didn't go into labor, but my last meal was takeout pasta from a local Italian restaurant. About 2 hours after dinner, I called my OB with a question about contractions, and she mentioned that my c/s was scheduled for the next day. I had thought it was the day after that! (Her fault -- when she scheduled it, she told me the wrong date.) So, I didn't know it was my last meal while I was eating it, but at least it was a slightly special meal.

 

I don't remember what I had for dinner that night, but my water did break about 15 minutes after my usual nightly snack - peanut butter and graham crackers, and a big glass of milk! I had to drink that nasty stuff right before the c-section because I had just eaten....

 

I went to an ice cream social at church. YUMMY!

 

I have absolutely no clue what the last meal was.. I went into the hospital on Thursday night for contractions, then they tried to give me breakfast the next morning and took it away right away because they decided to have my c-section that day... Grr...

 

i had chicken fried steak and potatoes that my girlfriend that was living with us made... man did it give me some heartburn... of course every thing did... i went into labor at 4:45 the next morning and had to drink that awful antacid stuff they gave you... ewww...

 

Pizza with dh and my girl around 530pm. Then my water broke at 615 when I went to lay on the couch!

I had mexican that night (super bowl sunday) when my water broke at midnite with dd.

 

I had been hospitalized due to PTL, and five days before I had the girls, they sent me to a bigger, better hospital, where they wouldn't let me eat anything! Finally, I complained enough that they let me eat a little here and there. I had chocolate pudding shortly before they were born because I needed to eat something in order to take the Tylenol they gave me for the pain (HA! what a big help that was). I, too, had to drink that horrible, horrible stuff...Yuck.

 

I hadn't been able to eat more than soup or popsicles for over a month (no room!) Everything made me sick! I will say, when I got out of the hospital we went straight to Mc Donalds!

HOW do you guys remember this? I have no clue what I ate, but I am sure it was something we ordered out.

 

Cheesesteak w/fried onions and hot peppers. It's what I had the night before I went into labor with my son and I was was willing to try anything to have those babies. Thank God it worked!
