DH is out of town right now so it's just me and the girls. Last night, when I went to bed around 11 I was just about asleep when all off a sudden over the monitor I hear "la la la la... la la la la... Elmo's world" and some stupid honking noise. Great, I figure there are one of three options:
    1. Somebody has broken into my house and stepped on the clutter.
    2. The stupid toy got left in a crib somehow and one of the girls is wide awake playing with it.
    3. It just got bumped.

Ok, I didn't really think that somebody else was in the house so I actually laid in bed and debated what to do. If one of the girls WAS awake and playing with it and I walked in, then she would instantly want me to pick her up and then not lay back down. No fun at 11 PM. But if I don't go in, and it was just being bumped, it could wake them up... Ugh. Then it goes off again. Stupid Elmo. :gah: So here I go, sneaking into their room like some kind of ninja and the toy is UNDER Hailey's foot. She was sound asleep!?!? I successfully removed the toy and now it's on my dining room table so if I hear it tonight then I will really freak out!

This stuff ALWAYS happens when you are alone in the house with the kids. Glad it turned out alright. I hate 'possessed' toys!!!

Oh yeah, possessed toys are no fun! Glad you were able to be stealth and remove it without waking a child. Sometimes our cat will sneak into DD's room to sleep on the rocking chair and I have to get her out of there because if DD happens to wake up and see her, she'll want to play and then cry when the cat leaves.

Lol... Hailey does this. If we are outside and she sees the kitten she gets all excited and says "ki-ee!" and sequels... which of course sends the cat running, which then results in my child sitting in the yard screaming.

I have to laugh because we have the Elmo kitchen and the other night I heard "order up"and then "elmo's restaurant" song start and I thought oh know I must be dreaming or Elmo is coming to get me. No, sure enough the batteries are getting low and it was saying all the stuff over and over I had to hurry/stumble in the play room and turn it off before it woke the twins up.
    These crazy toys

 Go Ninja Mommy!! When I started reading your post I thought maybe your kiddo was dreaming of Elmo. I've heard Meara say in her sleep "oh Elmo!" :D
