I was just checking out all the booster car seats online and can't decide which kind to get. One of my guys is getting near 40lbs so we need to get them soon.

There are the backless ones or the ones with backs...decisions decisions. I know my SIL had one with a back for her son but as soon as he started school and realized that the others had a backless one, he had to have one to. The ones with a back look more comfortable.

Are there ones that are safer? We have the Britax marathon seats right now and love them.

What kind do you have and do you like it?

    Thanks! :icon_biggrin:

Why not keep them in the Marathons? The weight limit is like 60lbs or are they too tall?

Would you consider a larger harness seat like the Regent? It harnesses to 80 lbs and 53 inches. This is what we are planning on getting when the boys outgrow their current seats. There is also the Sunshine Radian to 65 or 80 lbs, and in a few months Recaro is coming out with Como and Signo, which will harness to 70 lbs and 59-69 inches. If those are just too expensive and your car has headrests, the Apex is a decent seat (harness to 65 lbs, then converts to a booster to 100 lbs).

Oh, duh. The Marathons have a 65 lb weight limit, so unless they are really tall, you have plenty of time still.

I just went to the Britax website and you are right. I thought they only went up to 40lbs; it has been almost 3 years since we bought them  Thanks! I would be embarrassed except I am too excited I don't have to worry about it for awhile.

    Thanks ladies.

If anyone still wants to give suggestions, please feel free; someone else might benefit from the information. I'm off to have my head examined.

Mine are in the Graco high back turboboosters. Looking at their age, they are close to mine, and at 5 probably would prefer the booster. Also, if they are going into K in the fall, and ride on the bus all they will have are lapbelts--so I can see where they will object to the full harness when they only wear a lapbelt on the schoolbus, and their friends are in the regular boosters. Just something to think about.
