What TV shows do your little ones watch?

The Blues Clues topic got me thinking... I'm sure there are lots of good kids programs out there that I just haven't found. I just started letting my girls watch TV at 21 months, and they probably only watch a 1/2 hour every few days. So when I turn the TV on I'd like something that's worth it, not just mindless cartoons. So far they've watched Little Bear and Sesame Street.

What else is out there that your kids like (or liked) at this age?

    Thanks!

We mostly still do Baby Einsteins and Signing Time (and also the Baby Babble DVD's, but I imagine your kiddos don't need that like mine do!) -- but in addition to Blues Clues, they're starting to like Dora and Diego somewhat.

For kids a little bit older -- maybe closer to 3, I really like Little Einsteins and the Backyardigans.

Nadia really loved the Wiggles at that age, but it's just not the same after Greg left, so I haven't looked for it for K&K. I did try Imagination Movers (which is Disney's obvious rip-off of the Wiggles), but nobody has gotten into it.

We never had much success with Sesame Street -- I'm not sure why. Frankly, I think it jumped the shark when they introduced Elmo. ;)

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who didn't love Sesame Street. I remember it as such a great show from my childhood and early babysitting years, but it was so different yesterday when I turned it on. P & C had no interest. They did love Little Bear, though, so at least I've got one show for those super tired afternoons when no one has enough energy to even play.

My girls like anything that has lots of music: Backyardigans, Yo Gabba Gabba, Lazytown, Pinky Dinky Doo, Sesame Street.

When my girls were younger they really liked the wiggles (don't really watch it now because of how it has changed so much since my girls watched it) and Hi 5. My son is really into Handy Mandy and Thomas the Train. We also watch the Leap Frog Letter Factory on dvd and my son loves that and repeats the sounds of the letters. Other than that we don't watch anything regularly sometimes sesame street but he's not really into it and sometimes Dora and Diego if it happens to be on when I let him watch some tv.

Jack's Big Music Show. Addicts-my boys are total addicts. I mention the word and they start giggling. They see the remote-and they are very excited! It's crazy! We have essentially watched that nonstop the last few days as they have not been feeling well... I wish they didn't cancel the darn show-they would have made a ton of $$ off of my kids!

Barney has always been a big hit here....as are Little Einsteins, Super Why, and more recently Word World.

At that age it was Sesame Street, Little Einsteins, Barney, Wiggles, and sometimes Teletubbies or Blues Clues.

All four of my kids have been Dora addicts. I sometimes wonder if I have something to do with them all liking the same shows, or if it's a coincidence.
    The twins love Diego too.

Dora & Diego. They also love Tom & Jerry. They really don't watch that much even when it is on. They usually play for a while and watch for a while.

Jack and Lily only watch for about 30 minutes before bed while we are cuddling on the couch having a snack and milk sippy. At that time we watch the Sprout channel and the line-up goes Thomas, Noddy, Kipper, Caillou. Each show is about 8 minutes long and we head up to bed when the theme song for Caillou starts. Lily then continues to sing the Caillou song for quite a long time in her crib - too cute!
I will say they still do not seem focused enough or interested enough to really watch and are generally running around reading books, etc while the shows are on in the background.

mine mostly watch baby einstein videos and the like (brainy baby, baby signing time)

they really enjoy baby first tv, but their "shows" are only 5 min. long. they especially hide and seek, my gym at home, and the all time obsession winner, hopla. seriously, they are addicted, bear especially would get upset when we would turn on the tv and it wans't on. so i found it on you-tube and he would watch there to get his fix. we just bought a video and it's great. Here's a link to one episode

    Hopla episode

as for real tv show, the only one they will sit and watch is mickey mouse clubhouse.

also no interest here in sesame street, though they would watch the wiggles a bit--but they moved the schedule around and it's not on at 8:30 a.m. anymore....

In order of preference from when they started watching TV

    Blue's Clues
    Dora
    Little Eisensteins (huge fans)
    Mickey Mouse Club House
    Diego
    Tiger & Pooh
    JoJo's Circus
Thomas & Friends (My son can't get enough of this still)
    Tom & Gerry

They miss most of this now because of school.. but I have DVDs so they get one or two shows in the evenings if they want (which is becoming rare surprisingly). Lately, and after a lot of begging they watch Ben10 about once a week. Otherwise, they prefer a movies.

We watch a lot of Noggin and Sprout shows - Blue's Clues, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, Oswald, Thomas the Tank Engine, Dragon Tales, Caillou, Wow Wow Wubbzy, Dora, Diego, Jack's Big Music Show... The boys love music so they sing along with the TV. They probably watch an hour or two every weekday  - the whole family gathers after dinner in the living room and we watch together. Then we read books and it's off to bed. I try to keep the TV off on the weekends as much as possible. :)

My boys are big Dora and Diego fans also. I can't believe how much they learn from those shows. I just crack up when out of the blue they tell me things like armadillos sleep during the day. They also go on pretend adventures with their backpacks and imaginary maps. It's adorable!

Their other favorite show is the old Scooby Doo on the Boomerang channel. My husband got them started on that!

My older DS likes those, but he also likes Thomas the Tank Engine, Little Bear, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Wonder Pets, Dora, Diego, Oswald, Max and Ruby and Wow Wow Wubbzy. He will basically watch anything on Noggin...and some things on PBS. Thank goodness for Noggin....can you tell it's been a long winter filled with alot of tv at my house :)

My girls have always loved Dora.

I think for the around 2 year old, Yo Gabba Gabba is an excellent choice. That show is awesome for language development, the repetition may seem a little mindless to us adults, but I'm tempted to show the program to my university students of English. :D

Little Bear and Sesame Street are such great choices for young kids! My little ones also enjoyed shows like Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Bluey, which have positive messages and are fun to watch. For streaming kids’ programs, you could explore platforms that offer curated content and check out tools like Soplayer. Contacting Soplayer phone number could help set it up easily. It’s great to find shows that entertain while teaching useful lessons!
