Hi I am new here and expecting twin boys in May. We have our cribs all ready to go in their rooms, but would like for them to sleep in our room for a least the first few months. I looked into bassinets and they seem too small for two, and the pack n'plays seem to have a weight limit of 15 lbs which doesn't seem like it will last us very long. For those of you who have your babies in the room with you what did you use? Thanks!

We had both of ours in the pack n play in our room until they were 3.5 months then suddendly I was ready for them to go into their own room, and so were they[IMG] It worked out great for us and still if we are at my in-laws I will let them take a nap in it together and they seem to be just fine! They each weigh 13-14 lbs. Pack n Play is my recommendation! [IMG]

We bought 2 pack n plays because we figured we'd need them for traveling later and for sleeping at grandma's. You can try setting one up to see how they work out in your room. They also have those portable cribs which seem a bit sturdier than a pack n play, that could work.
    Check it out here
We had planned on having them in our room but we ended up putting them in their cribs since day 1 and it's worked out really well for us. We never had to 'transition' them into sleeping in their own beds and now I can place them in there when they're getting tired and they'll fall asleep on their own. Hopefully this will last as they get older, but for now it's great.

PS - we also exceeded the weight limit on the pack n play bassinet and it held up fine. There's some leeway, it's not as if as soon as 15 lbs is reached it's going to instantly collapse, but of course for safety reasons the company has to cover their own butt. We don't really use it much any more except for naps and they don't like to sleep together now anyway.

for the first 2mo we slept with the boys in our king size bed. After that we had them in a crib in our room --and one of my sons is still there, the other is now sleeping in a crib in his room (and I am there with him for another month).

We figured that since we had already bought the cribs, why buy another "baby bed" -- and since a pack and play had a weight limit of 30 pounds, we figured we couldn't use it very long. Oh well. this has worked out for us so far.

    Good luck with the pregnancy.

We have ours in an Arms Reach Co-sleeper. It has worked out well, and they are only starting to get too big to share it now (4 1/2 months and over 16 pounds each). I liked it better than the PNP (which we have also) because they are at just the right height and position if you need to reach over and soothe one in the middle of the night.

I had the girls together in the PNP bassinet until they reached a combined 15 lbs and then I moved them to separate PNPs. Our other PNP didn't have a bassinett so Ainsley slept in the bottom of that while while I continued to use the PNP with a bassinett for Sierra. We traveled a lot so having two PNPs was important for us. We used them until just after the girls turned 2 years old and I would have used them longer if they hadn't started climbing out of them. Great! Thanks for all the advice! It looks like we have more options than I thought.
