Hi I usually just surf the form, but am looking for advice.

I am attempting to plan a three week trip to see family. It will take 2 -3 days to drive each way. The girls will be 4 months when we leave.

Any suggestions on what to pack we drive a wagon and it will likely be a challenge to get all that we need packed.

    Thanks
    Ruth

If it were me, I would have them sleep in the pack-n-play, and I would bring one bouncy chair and one travel swing. Other than that, you need the obvious stuff. You can always wash clothes, blankets, etc. (Maybe you should bring a little bottle of their detergent if you use something special.) You can bathe them in a sink, so you just need their baby wash and lotion. Of course stroller and baby carrier too!

If you bottle feed don't forget to bring stuff to wash bottles with while traveling- dish soap, bottle brush, etc. If pumping, don't forget all that stuff too!

    Goodluck, Lisa

Can someone there go out and purchase diapers/wipes/formula/baby wash, stuff like that for you? When we go to visit my mom, it is a HUGE help when she has all of that ready for us when we get there.

I keep a notepad with me a couple of weeks before having to pack to go somewhere. As I go through the day, I jot down things I need to get through the day, that way when it comes time to pack, I have a nice list in front of me.

Make sure to bring the comforts of home...blankets you always use, toys they love, things like that.

Other than the usual, clothes, burp rags, blankets (and lots of them) better to have more than not enough

Also pack in the car, a case of bottled water, can make formula in the car without having to stop. :D

I think it will be ok for getting everything to fit in our car.
Depending on where we stay on the drive I can borrow a play n go from friends when we get there. We are visiting family most of whom have young children of their own, so there are lots of toys to play with. Will only need to pack small ones to get us through the drive. Our plug in cooler for their formula.

I can get my sister to pick up formula and diapers before we get there.

I might pack there bumbos if they are in them more by then. I am hoping they won't be that interested in their swings by then they are just to big to pack . There will be enough family around that will want to rock them.

Can you buy pre-made formula ? It might be easier then mixing it.

Lots of plastic grocery bags for garbage, diapers, etc.
    Easy sleepers for the drive.
You can call the hotel and ask if they have any cribs/cots available which might mean you won't have to unpack your portacot.
A nice big blanket you can put on the ground and let the babies roll around when you have a stop.
My infant to toddler rocker is big enough for my 6 month to sleep in, and the portacot for the other baby.
Pack the least amount of "dress-up" clothes for the trip. All wash and wear stuff.
Bring similar coloured clothes. So you only have to do one big load of wash. (eg. all light coloured clothes)
Any one piece outfits so less clothes to worry about
Ziplock bags lots (for socks, for cereal, for washclothes, etc.)
In the hotel a simple top and tail wash would do, or you can take them into the bathtub or shower with you.
I'm sure those small containers of baby bath wash would do you for your trip
If you are bf lots of snacks like apple sauce, fruit in a cup, crackers and peanut butter, etc.
    Hats
    Batteries if needed
charge up the camera and video camera

all the best for your trip !!
