Okay ... I'm 35 weeks and we keep jumping around with names. I don't know why this is so hard. We typically like traditional names. Here's what we have ...

    BOY: Jack

GIRL: This is where things get difficult. Here are the top contenders.
Juliana -- prounounced juli-ahna (does that makes sense? ah-na, not an-na) -- probably our favorite, but her name will most likely be misprounced and will they call her Julie? <_<
Claire -- another favorite -- MIL HATES it ... reason to use it in my book!
Lauren -- I love it ... DH has a student that is kind of ruining it for him.
Meghan -- On the list, but probably won't win.
Avery -- Very Pretty, more contempory than I typically like, don't care for how it sounds with DH's last name (names with "e" sounding ending like my name [Stacy] does NOT sound good with DH's last name and I didn't change my name because of it! ).

    Thoughts? I'm SO frustrated!!!!!!

PS -- We also have a daughter that passed away. Her name is Katherine and we never shortened it or allowed others to shorten it. She was just Katherine and it so fit her. Somehow picking out her name was never this difficult!!!!! <_<

I like Juliana but it will probably be mispronouced or shortened. How much will that bother you??
I really like Claire (and since you get to name her and not MIL pick the name you like!)

I love Claire! Claudia is another wonderful girls name ... it was in the running for our daughter. Juliana is really pretty but take it from the mother of a Jillian, it will be shortened. I always said that we would never shorten Jillian to Jill, but EVERYONE (DH and I included) shorten it to Jillie and Jill all the time. We still love the name and know as she grows older, she will insist on being called Jillian just like I insisted that people quit calling me Jenny or Jen. If you love Juliana...use it!

    Don't worry!
Why not just wait until you can look them in the eye and see which name fits!--that's what I did. ;)

hey there... oh MY! ... meximeli, sure has it right... i did not have twins, but i named my kids all before hand and then, when i saw them face to face, i made sure, first, that the names still felt right... and i also narrowed it down, from the two choices, into one.. you will
have that magic happen, soon... perhaps even the night before they come!

i named some twins, jake and jade... (they are fiction, though, for my book)...
but i like jake, cuase it was "down to earth" but with a bit of a diffrent "twang" to it ---oh, no!--did NOT KNOW THAT there was a tv show, with a jake name... (oh, well  ) ..... then, i named the other one, jade, as she was to be a TREASURE to her brother... but---she called him, jet, as he had jet black hair.... hmmm, seems no matter WHAT you name them, someone always has to "nickname" them something else, :D

good luck and have fun, and relax, it will happen, and best wishes... :D

I Love Jack and my vote for a girl name is for Claire- I am a firm believer that naming a baby is between the parents not the grandparents, other family memberse and friends, etc...

I'd go wit Claire as it won't be shortened or mispronouced because trust me if it can be mispronouced it will.

Remember they are your babies not MIL's babies. My Xh's family said my girls names sounded like black names only with the n word. I was very offended because their godmother is african american plus I don't think they sound african american. My girls fit them so well.

You might end up waiting and seeing which one fits her best
