What to feed my picky eaters?

My girls are almost 15 months and were the BEST eaters one could ask for. All of a sudden they don't want to eat anything but fruit, cheese, grilled cheese, pancakes, waffles, french toast , yogurt, applesauce and anything else that is sweet. Sometimes they will eat chicken nuggets....sometimes they will eat pasta. I just made a nice dinner...chicken baked with sauce and cheese, garlic bread, broccoli and corn. They wanted no parts of it. I gave them some bread with cream cheese on it and they ate it. I gave them yogurt and they ate it. Now they are inhaling raisins and cheerios. I get so upset when I make a nice dinner, put it on their tray and they just STARE at it. UGH.

Should I NOT offer anything else but what I originally put on their tray? I don't want them to go to bed hungry, ya know?

What do you feed your picky eaters?

I have this same problem. I did the same things you did...gave them something else. That was the worst thing I did. They got used to turning their noses up at what I offered and then getting something else they wanted instead. My DS is on the small side, so I wanted him to eat, even if it ment trying 10 different things per meal to get thim to eat it. Well my pedi told me to offer what we were having and 1 alternative. If they didn't want that, then they were probably just not hungry. I started doing this, and they have gotten much better at eating. It is just a suggestion. Also just putting a few "bites" of things, helps them to not feel overwhelmed, and they seem to eat better. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I'm going through this right now with mine too. I agree with the PP in that I offer one alternative and that's it. My pediatrician recommended something bland like Cheerios when my DS was the twinkies' age and going through the pickiness so that's what we do with them too. They get offered whatever the meal is, if they refuse, they get Cheerios and their cup of milk. To this day, we use it with my DS (6) and that's how I can tell he's about to get sic. If he takes the Cheerios over dinner, I know he's waking up sick in the am!!

Its truly not a fun problem .. mine will eat mostly pasta .. rarely any meats and never any veggies. I just keep trying different approaches. Tonight I made spinach fetuccini with alfredo sauce that they loved.

Tough subject. I still don't have good eaters. No pasta or vegetables here. I give them 2 choices for dinner. Mine will almost always have grilled cheese or chicken nuggets. I have been trying to get them to at least have a bite of something from our plates, but that isn't working too well.
