this may sound selfish but what do you do if you want to go somewhere after twins bedtime...we have our annuaul christmas get together at my aunts house every year ...I want to go this year and show off my babies (8 months)but the party is after there bedtime.. there normal bedtime is between 6:30-7:00 ...we took them out before after there bedtime and they were so cranky and over tired...
This just happend to us the last 2 nights... it turned out great I fed them before we left, they fell asleep on the car, and then stayed asleep until it was time for the next feeding... fed, changed diapers and they went back to sleep (I brought a comfortor to put on the floor on a quiet room with a room monitor... I enjoyed the party and the babies got their rest. The second night I did the same thing except that I put them in their pjs (nices and comfortable so when I came back and they were asleep I put the back in the crib. They got up at their usually time again to eat and went back to sleep. Friends/family were a little dissapointed that the babies were not awake to be playing with, but praised me on having them bo back to sleep on their own without rocking, etc.... I rather have sleeping babies that no one plays with than cranky babies that then I am left to put back to sleep have fun
I see if my mom is available to watch them so they won't miss their bed time. That's the truth, I hate to keep them up late! If my girls stay up late it makes them sleep even less and wake up earlier than usual <_< It's just not worth it to me.
unfortuntately I have noone to watch them.....we just planned on going for a few hours......I was going to feed them like normal and then they would cat nap on the ride over and then feed them again there next would be feeding as if they were awake at home which would be 3 hours later 9ish....then put them to bed......it sounds so easy...and I hope it goes the way I want it to.... GL! I hope it is smooth sailing. If I didn't have anyone to watch my girls and I really wanted to go to a party I would go too. It's just one night, it's not going to hurt anything. Let us know how it goes!

Both of ours were up past their bedtimes the past two nights and they did really well with it. Good luck!
Well it went fairly well.....we put them down for another nap before what would be there bedtime...so they wouldnt be as tired (try to keep them up after afternoon nap) anyway.....they did so well...I was able to stay at my families party till next feed....which we where home by DS was getting cranky.....its a once a year thing and Im glad I was able to go....that will probably be the last time I do anything like that QUOTE(SweetGirl @ Dec 26 2008, 10:14 AM) I would also leave mine with a sitter. It's no fun for us having babies out after bedtime.
