I have been talking to my husband about a possible Tummy Tuck after the twins are born.

He doesnt understand why I would need one.

I am not one of the ladies that like to show her tummy but I would like for my husband to kinda see the woman he married.

I just wanted to know what everyone else did after their little ones were born.

I am scared about the twinskin thing. That it seems everyone I bump into talks about.

I usually just exercise but I dont know about the time or energy level I may have.

    O yea the stretch marks.

Twin belly. Sigh. There's no way around it, unless you have super-genes, better than any other twin mom I know. You can be fit and thin, and look great with clothes on, but the belly isn't going to be pretty. My eyes were just opened recently, when on one of my twin boards other moms posted PP pics of their bellies. OMG, there's no hope for me. I'm 17 months out, and looking pretty good dressed. Feeling good too. But the skin is just like deflated bread dough.

Now some of the crunchiest women I know, who like me homebirthed their twins and resist all unnecessary medical procedures, are considering the tummy tuck. If I had all the money in the world I would be very tempted. But I don't. Good thing it doesn't bother me too much. It's soft and part of who I am now.

You'll be a beautiful woman without the tuck. But if you're interested, go for it!

Um, I'm already saving up for my tummy tuck!!! :rotflmbo: Listen, I figure this is what I worked so hard going to school for . . . so I could afford to treat myself to elective surgeries one day. :tease: Seriously though, if you can afford it and you want your tummy back then I say go for it. Do whatever makes you happy!

Honestly I was a 34DDD before this pregnancy and now I'm up to a 36J (Heaven knows what my breasts will look like after nursing at least 2 babies). Once I'm done having all my kids, there is for sure a tummy tuck and breast reduction in my future.

I am planning to get a tuck - my husband is fine with it. I mentioned it to my mom - who is not crunchy, but is not a fan of fake-y things, doesn't even have her ears pierced, etc. thinks it's a great idea. I have two roommates from college who are now OBs who recommend waiting 6 months after twins to have the tuck so they can contour you correctly. I haven't spoken to a plastic surgeon, though.

i guess i'm lucky with already being fat! i'm bigger than i was when i was pg with my 10 pounder, but i don't mind the belly so much...i'm so used to it being big and flabby that it's just part of who i am now...of coarse, i've also given birth 5 times before, so the stretch marks (of which i've noticed a few new ones at the top of the belly) and all that just go with what was there before..i'm going to be working on losing weight once the twins are born, but my goal certainly is NOT to be like i was when i was 18..i'm thinking about 100 pounds off and i'll be good to go..and i already know that taking that much off will still keep me in the "fat" area, but hubby doesn't mind, so why should i?

I would wait and see what your body looks like after you have your twins, you may be pleasantly surprised! ;) Also, I would not recommend getting a tummy tuck until after your LO's are at least 2 (at the very Earliest!). With that kind of surgery you are not going to be able to do ANY lifting for an extended period of time (upwards of 6 weeks or more) and that is just not practical when you have two infants, and then toddlers. Best of Luck to you!!

^^What she said! Don't get yourself all worried thinking about it now when you aren't sure what you will look like. I know I didn't worry at all. (because I didn't know what was coming ;) for me) Now, yes, tummy tuck will be happening for me but not until they are in kindergarten. :good:
