What to do when the babies are out of the infant seats...

Right now my kiddies are still in the infant seats and I believe they will be out of them soon. I am wondering how do you juggle both of them when traveling alone, when you have to take them from the house and into the car to strap them into the car seat. I am thinking, since mine LOVE to get into stuff, that I will have to keep one in the pack in play while I get the other in the car seat and then get the other one. It sounds silly, but I kind of feel bad leaving them alone even for that amount of time!

Any tips for how you handle this?

I put one in the bumbo right next to the door so I just have to grab her and lock the door after I get her sister and the stuff in the car.

you can always wheel them both out to the car in the stroller....but i keep mine in the car

i switched DS over first since DD is a peanut and used her infant seat till 1 year old, so i just did the carrier for her while carrying him out. now, though, since they are older, i'll carry them both out and make DS wait on the seat of the actual car, between me and the DD's seat, while i strap her in, and then just go around and put him in his seat. then i go back in the house and get diaper bag, wallet, keys, and lock up...

I do the same thing sort of. (Don't always use the bumbo.)

Since DS is my fast crawler I put always put him in first, but DD is my little potato- she doesn't move very fast! So she sits by the door and then I grab her and lock up. My car is pretty close to the back door though, so I don't feel bad about leaving them for the minute (or less) it takes to strap the other in.

I have a gated area so I have one in there while I put the other one in the car. Sometimes I have one in an excersaucer as well.

We had a gated area so I would put one in the gated area and take one out to the car. I think anything will work, like the PNP or Bumbo or the stroller. Whatever you can use to contain them safely for a bit.

I have a predicament with this! We live in a condo, so no driveway- just a parking lot that is a ways from the condo AND you can only get to the parking area using steps. I'm a little unsure of what I'm going to have to do. Maybe carry one and have one in a sling? Ugh. Not looking forward to that.

My living room is babyproofed so I just leave one in there while I strap the other one in. I live in a house with a driveway though so that makes a difference. When out places I usually carry them both in. I unstrap one, go around to the other side of the car get that one out and then come back and lift the first baby out, I do the same thing getting back in, open the door put one baby in unstrapped, put the other baby in and then go back and strap the first baby.

I'm not quite there yet, but will be facing this issue as well.

I think at the house I'll just leave one in an exersaucer or in their crib. I have a garage though so it only takes a second and I don't have to go far at all.

I think I'm going to keep a sling in the car for in and out of daycare though. Usually someone comes out to help with one of the infant carriers, but right now if they don't I can get them both in by myself. Once there are no carriers I don't think I can without a sling.

I have a stroller in the car, but there are 3 doors and lots of kids between the front and the infant room so it's a PITA to manuver through the maze. I guess a small umbrella stroller would work in a pinch but that's just one more thing taking up space in the already crowded van.

We just bought a play yard for indoors, one of the best things we bought for them. since Jr is getting around everywhere. I highly recommend it!

In your case I would pack up the car first, then one child at a time. while the other is in the play yard or in a pack n play
