I have been racking my brain trying to think of names for my girls to call my dad. I just haven't heard one that jumps out at me. I was just wondering what your twins call their g-pa's. My mother is called GiGi and my real dad is called Pop's and my husband's parent's are called Grammy and Paw Paw. I am curious to what all the grandparents are called.

We have a Papaw (how do you spell that, Pawpaw?) and a Grandpa. My grandpa was Pop-Pop, and I wish we had chosen that for my dad instead of Grandpa.

I lean towards plain old Grandpa (that's what I called both my grandfathers), but my kids seem to have a Granddaddy and a Papa. When my nephew (who is now 5) started talking, he called my parents Baba and Papa, so that's what they started calling themselves. And my MIL seems to prefer Grandmommy and Granddaddy, so I just go along with it.

You may also find that your girls make their own decision! That's what my nephew did, anyway.

We call my parents Grandpa John and Grandma Sharon. We call my FIL Grandpa Red (after Red Forman from That 70s show, just like him) and Grandma Bonnie (we tried to call her Grandma Kitty but my oldest heard someone call her Bonnie and that stuck) By the way they all hate being called by their first name. Except Grandpa Red.

My parents are Nana and Papa.

DH's Dad is Grandpy and DH's Stepmom is Nana Kay.

Kay is her first name. K&M started adding the "Kay" a few weeks ago after hearing me call her Kay time and time again. That is fine with me.....Having two Nana's was confusing!

PS. Occasionally they call my Mother "Mom" and my Father "Pops" which is what I call them.

My kids call all their grandpa's-- papa. I think they like grandpa better--but "papa" it is for the moment!

For the grandma's there are 3 and they call them:
    My mom= grandma
    MIL= Grandma Lori
    Step-mom= Grammy

What's funny is the can totally distinguish between the three and very rarely slip and call them another's name!

When My boys first started talking Paa Pawwwww was what they call my Dad, they still call him that and Mam Maw is my Mom. It is cute to hear them call them that, especially when they first started talking, Caleb would say "paaaaa pawwwwww" it was just too cute..... Hope that this helps.

A lot of times, kids will end up giving them there own names!

My dad is Peepaw and my FIL is Papa. My 3 y.o. came up with Peepaw. I would have liked for Ellie to have come up with her own names for everyone, but MIL wanted to be called Grandma and wanted FIL to be called Papa (and they are).

She calls my mom Nina (it was Nana, but has become Nina).

My MIL and FIL are Grandma and Grandpa. DH's family went by the book with grandparents names. No one in his family had nicknames for the grandparents they were stictly called Grandma and Grandpa. In my family it's the opposite we always had nicknames for both sides of my grandparents. My girls call my Mom, Grams. We call my Dad, Poppy.

My boys call my parents Papa & Nana. My husbands dad Grandpa and his stepmom Grandma. Then they call my husbands mother Grandma Linda. Which grandma, grandpa, and grandma linda were set by the other grandkids before my boys since they are the youngest of the grandkids.

I told my parents to pick their names before my boys were born ... my mom chose Granny, but my dad never made up his mind ... so I started calling him "Granny's Husband" and now it has been shortened to "GH" [IMG]

I just have to tell you guys that I posted this last week, and I have been reading all of the responses. Well I didn't tell my husband that I had posted this or what any of the names on here were and we were at a family bday party and Ansley looked at my dad and called him Poppy. I just started dying laughing and then told them about me asking the question of what everyone calls the grandad's and then Ansley just calls him that on her own. I have no idea where she even heard that. It was really weird!!!!! Just thought I would share that.

We didn't have much choice as our kids were the 5th, 6th and 7th on DH side and the 13th, 14th and 15th on my side. My parents have been Grandma and Grandpa for 22 years [IMG] and my MIL is Grandma Noreen. My kids haven't met DH father, but he is called Grandpa John by my nieces in FLA.
