I feel like I can never get this right. Leah was so easy, she would just wake up and then play for a bit and then ask for breakfast. With the boys in the mix, they are either starving as soon as they wake up or they couldnt care one bit. I try to have breakfast about 8am (they all wake about 7:15 ish) but somedays they are clamoring for food at 7:45. I am not strict about the time, but I just cant seem to find the right time.

What time do you do breakfast in your house and how soon after they wake up do you give it?

We do a milk sippy right when they wake up (between 7:30 and 8am) and then we do breakfast around 9.

It varies widely in our home. Some mornings, I wake up starving. Sometimes not. I figure my kids will be hungry some mornings, and others not so much. Growth spurts or not eating much for dinner the night before are obvious times for increased hunger in the AM.
If they are starving b4 we can give brkfst, we give them snack cups with cereal (like cheerios) to take the edge off. I don't put alot in -or- it could become the meal instead of the snack. make sense?
Anyway, most mornings we do instant oatmeal so it's not too difficult. Then their mid-morning snack and/or lunch can be a more complicated meal

My boys have never slept past 7am. They are 3 now and eat breakfast between 6:45-7:15.

My boys don't usually need food as soon as they wake up. But when they wake up starving I give them a little cup of Cheerios to tide them over while I get breakfast organized.

We usually have breakfast at 8 (the same time that they have it at daycare). They wake up around 6:45-7 most mornings. They do have milk though before breakfast. Sometimes they don't really care to eat then, but I still have it around then.

The Twins wake usually around 6:30 and I let them play in their cribs while I get breakfast ready and have a cup of coffee.
Then I get them up and they eat breakfast around 7:15-7:30.

Nothing in stone here either really... They wake between 7-7:30am. If I am getting up with them(dh and I rotate), I usually give them a sippy of milk. Then they will get breakfast between 8-8:30am. If dh wakes with them...they usually eat around 8am.

My girls are up in their cribs about 15-30 min. before we go and get them. So they eat as soon as they come down. Just in the past month, I have started bringing them down without breakfast ready. Some days they wait just a bit, others, they are grabbing at their chairs to get up and eat.

Well we have to be out the door at 8:30am to get Caroline to school. Sometimes they have had breakfast before we leave, sometimes not. Now they tell me they want breakfast. When they were too young to do that, I would give them something about 15-30 min. after they got up and before we left to take Caroline to school.

My twins wake up at 8/8:30 (don't shoot me, I had nothing do to with it) and are usually ready for breakfast around 8:30/9. DS signs eat as soon as I get him out of the crib and DD could wait a little longer, usually I do diaper changes and then they play while I get something ready. I'm not much of a morning person so its usually something super simple like toast/yogurt/fruit, we save eggs etc. for lunch or weekends.

This is exactly what is going on here every morning. And when mine are climbing into their chairs, they are HUNGRY and then  when there is nothing ready. I have been afraid to give them milk or cereal to tide them over since I dont want to decrease their appetite. But, it worth a try. They dont eat tons in the morning even when they are clamoring for food.

Thanks so much for all the different options. Scary how none of this came to my mind in the past ummm 2 months or so that this has been going on. :umm: I have just been content to pull my hair out.

My little ones get a straw cup of milk right after they wake up (whenever that happens to be), and then they eat breakfast about 30 to 45 minutes later.

My older DD has a protein smoothie upon waking, and then never eats breakfast. <_< (Hence the need for the smoothie!)

My girls get the boobie when they get up and if I think its too early to be awake for the day (like 4am! <_< ) then I lay them back down. We usually head upstairs around 630-7 and they play in the playroom until 730 when they have breakfast. I thrive on schedules so I try to stick to it.

My son eats when my girls eat breakfast at around 7-7:15. They are all waken up (well I think they are usually up anyway) around 6:50 on school days and are aloud out of their rooms at 7 on non school days. Usually we eat right away so the girls can finish getting ready for school. My son will eat when they are eating and then when we come back from dropping the girls off at school I eat breakfast so he usually eats a little something with me too. On non school days sometimes we wait a little while for them to ask but usually I try to stick to the same times so no later than 7:30. I also don't give anything before hand and I don't give snacks during the day either to make sure they are hungry (unless I know we are going to be eating later than normal then they will get a snack).

Ours wake up between 6:45 and 7:30am. I serve breakfast around 8am. I get them dressed as soon as they wake up. Then they usually play with their toys while I get their breakfast ready.

We do the milk sippy first thing when they wake up (6:30-7:00) then eat BF about 30 min. later.

Breakfast is somewhere between 8:00 and 9:00, depending on when the girls get up.

They wake up around 8:30 and I get them changed/dressed and take them downstairs and they play for a few minutes while I get breakfast ready. They eat as soon as it is ready (usually pretty quickly, as they have waffles/bananas/yogurt most days). They get milk after they eat.

I do it as soon as they wake up. I hadn't thought about waiting until they asked for it. They always have eaten a whole lot in the morning so I just assumed they were hungry as soon as they woke up.
