My boys have woken up TWICE each for the past 3 nights after a month and a half of sleeping from 7 to 7. I'm assuming it's becasue of DST? Please tell me it gets better and we're not just at an age where they suddenly stop sleeping through. When people ask about how much sleep we're getting and I tell them, they say "don't jinx yourself!" Did I? What the heck am I supposed to do....lie :p ? Guess I won't have to lie now. It's not even about my not getting any sleep, I just hate to see them so frustrated in the middle of the night. It's like they just can't get comfortable. Should I go ahead and start them on the cereal next week? They're EBF and the doctor gave us the go ahead at their 4 month appointment but I wasn't ready yet. Sorry I'm rambling. I'm just a little flustered from the CIO nap we just suffered through...And DH failed to take out the trash ONCE AGAIN!!!!! Sounds like it's not a big deal but we live in a gated townhome community and I have to walk about 10 houses down to get out of the gate where we leave the trash. I don't feel comfortable leaving the babies alone for that time and I can't take both of them AND wheel the trash out to the street. And they only do trash pick-up on Monday and Thursday. Okay, I'm done. So sorry!

    Thanks for reading my rambling

Well maybe it is an age thing I don't know. It has been happening at our house too. I used to put them down at 7 and I could count on them sleeping till 3 or 4am, but now I put them down and they are up every 30 minutes to an hour just whimpering around. It is driving me crazy. It must be a husband thing about the trash, because my husband never remember to put the trash out. We have started cereal and some baby food and it has not helped them sleep any better. good luck and hope you figure something out.

Hi Ladies - I'm sincerely hoping that the sleep disturbances are just a phase for those of us right around the 5 month mark. There have been a couple other posts recently that made me think this might be the case. I'm hoping they are just so darn excited about realizing all that life has to offer that once it wears off, they'll go back to sleeping!

My kiddos declared war on naps about 2 weeks ago, and despite my and the daycare provider's best efforts, it's not getting any better. I'm afraid to even type that their nighttime sleep has been OK, for fear it too will suffer!

Good luck ladies - I hope things get back on track soon - for all of us!!

[SIZE=12pt]I put the trash right outside the front door, so he can't come or leave without taking care of it.
    Is that wrong?

I always pray that someone doesn't decide to drop by while it's out there.

Hi- I really hope your good nights aren't over. But if I'm being honest, my boys did the SAME thing at right about the same time. Yup, sign me up for the "5-mo sleep disturbance club." We're still working on getting them back to their 7:30-7:30 sleep schedule. First they were gassy, then with apparent teething pain, and now it's feet. They love their feet so much they wake to play with them. Sorry. Like i said, i hope this isn't the case for you.

My guys have slept poorly the last 2 nights, too, I'm assuming (HOPING) it's DST affecting them. The other day they were up at 5 (normally 6 for them, which they get up around 630) and staying up all day ... but today they slept until 7 so maybe we are getting back on track here. Hang in there, hopefully it will get better!
And that's funny, today is our trash day too and DH didn't take it out, so I had to stick the kids in thier jumpers to haul out all the garbage. That's HIS job, dangit!!!

My kiddos have been waking during the night for the past week and a half. I think it may have to do with teething pains that they wake up and once they're awake, they realize that they're a bit hungry too. I only feed the one that wakes up and hope that the other doesn't wake, but I haven't been having lcuk with that thus far.

From what it looks like it's an unfortunate combination of DST and the "5 mos club". Our babes have been really good about sleeping through until two nights ago as well. I chalked it up to overstimulation (Mommy took the kids on their first trip to the mall) as it seems they have restless sleep on nights that they have a lot of interaction with people or busy settings. But DS wakes up an hour early. Hoping to get a "full" night sleep again soon.

I am sorry to say that we have been going through this also and it is just starting to get a little better. Right around 4.5 months they stopped sleeping for any length of time. Like pp said I could put them down at 7 and they would sleep until about 3 or 4 and then eat and go right back to sleep until 7 or 8. Then it just stopped and they are back to being up every 3-4 hours. Then it got real bad and they would wake up, eat and then wake up an hour later fussing and not wanting to sleep. Now we are back to sleeping for good 4 hour stretches, eating and going right back to sleep, but they are still waking up to eat. I have been trying to just soothe them back to sleep instead of feeding them everytime they wake up and that has helped to get slightly longer stretches out of them again. Even that has taken 3 weeks to accomplish. <_<
