What size to buy??

My babies are 3 months old and I am looking to buy summer clothes. They are about 11 and 13 pounds. Norah is very long but skinny. Nevan is average height but stout. Right now they fit 3 - 6 mos and its a bit big depending on the brand. What size should I buy for the summer?

I am thinking you would probably be good with 6 to 9 mos outfits for this summer. Mine are now 10 mos. and into 12 mos. outfits. They weigh 18.8 each. My friends baby is very long and thin as well and (2 day younger than my boys) she is wearing a size 12 mos now as well. I do know that she was in 9 mos. alot longer than mine though. I hope this helps you some. I say if you find good clearance prices in 9 mos get em. If it's full price I would wait for summer to get closer. Good luck!

 

I've been debating buying some summer clothes, too. For the most part, my babies have stayed within the size range for their age. (They're 8 mos now & wearing 6-9 mos) I didn't get a whole lot of summer clothes yet, but I got mostly 12-18 mos sizes. They'll be 12 mos at the end of April.

It's hard to guess. You never know when they'll hit a growth spurt & jump right out of their clothes. Your babies body shapes sounds similar to mine. Zoe is normal height & pretty chunky while Johnny is long & lean. I think summer will be easier to buy for.....you can always just buy shorts for the waist size. The length is easier to get away with on shorts.

The stuff I've gotten so far, I bought that can be layered. Skorts for Zoe that if she grows into them too soon I can put tights underneath, etc. I'd say probably just go with the age they'll be in summer time, but save your reciepts just in case.

 

If they just recently moved into 3-6 months clothes, you should be safe with 6-9 months. If they have been in 3-6 months over a months, I'd get 9-12 month clothes. My kids are always a size bigger than their age - I think that is pretty common. Plus, If the clothes are too big, you can eaily roll up the sleeves. So better too big than too small!

 

Thanks for the tips ladies. We just hit the 3 mos mark and just started wearing 3 - 6 mos. I made a big OOPS, I brought Carters outfits in 6 mos sizes thinking they are 6 - 9 but they are 3 - 6! We washed them, we'll just have to go on a tropical vacation in a few months! I wish LOL

I don't know...my little boy was in 6-12 months for a month (no kidding) and my little girl is in 3-6 STILL...so it really messed up our santa outfit/pictures...seeing that both the outfits were 6-12! LOL! It's so hard to tell and brands run so different. I would buy just a few in 6-9

My girls were in 3-6 months at 3 months too, and at almost 7 months are in 12-18 so you never know! I used to buy ahead, but learned my lesson lol.
