My girls are currently 16 lbs and 18 lbs and are 5 months old. They wear size 3 diapers, actually my 18 pounder probably needs to go to size 4- her size 3 seems too small. Was just curious to see what size diapers your kids wear?

It seems to me that you really can't go by the weights on the diaper packaging, like they run small. Is this the case with you or is it just me?

    TIA for your feedback!

My boys are the same age and just a little bigger. We are still using size 3.

My kids were in size 3 quite quickly but then stayed in them for a really long time. As they get more active, walked they thinned out so they stayed in size 3.

Mine were in size three for the longest time. Evan is about 20 lbs right now and fits into a size three easy. I thought the weights on the packages were pretty accurate for us. I had one skinny mini & one chunky monkey.

We have been in size 4 since they were a year. But they are just now 21/22lbs. I think it varies a lot with the child too. My boys are tall, but super skinny so I think they will be in size 4 for a long time. I remember the boys being in size 1 and 3 for a really long time too.

My 11 month olds are around 17 pounds and 21 pounds. The small one still needs size 2 diapers! The bigger one wears size 3s. My have been pretty accurate as far as the stated weights on the diapers. I don't think my little one will ever graduate to a size 3!

Jeepers, maybe it's just me!!! ;) My girls are rolly-poly- not real tall and pretty round- maybe that's why they seem too big for their size 3's?!

My little girl is 8 lb and still in a NB while my 13 lb big girl wears a 2. I think she'll be in 2s for a while though and little girl should be in 1s soon.

I think it depends where they carry the weight. My boys have NO waist and NO butt...they take after their daddy, not me! I think I stretched out how long they were in the smaller sizes too b/c the price goes up with the size. We also had/have a really hard time getting them to drink enough (therefore not as much liquid in the diaper).

Definitely. My little one has no butt and no waist. She is just tiny. I think she'll be wearing size 2s past her first birthday. But I've also found that when she does wear a size 3 (like now because I haven't gotten any size 2s and still haven't had to purchase any diapers so I'm resisting), she tends to leak because there is so much space around her butt area. The diaper just goes up too far on her back so it doesn't contain things like it should. Guess I should break down and buy the girl some diapers. <_<

My girls have been in size 3 for the past month and they are 16 and 18lbs. I also think it depends on the diaper what brand you use. When we used huggies size 3 they just didn't seem to big now I switched to luvs and they have plenty of room.

When mine weighed that much they were in size 4 diapers. I think they were in that size sooner b/c they have long torsos. HTH :).

I think we were in size 3's at that point, and stayed in them for awhile. Then stayed in 4's for a long time. We never went up to 5's.

I agree that the weights seem to be off at least for Pampers anyway. I have found that you cam go up a size even when they aren't at the weight limit and they will fit into them. We were in 4's at the end of the first year and they have been in 6's since this summer. I will be so glad when I no longer have to buy those dang things.

Just moved up to size 4, and the boys are 9 months old--and between 20-21 lbs. They could still wear 3 during the day, but not at night. I have also found that the generic diapers runs much smaller. The size 4 costco diaps fit very well, and the Huggies are a little bigger.

My DS is wearing size 5 (he´s about 21-22lbs) as he soaks a size 4. DD´s wearing size 4 (she´s about 18-19lbs). The weights on the packaging for these sizes are totally unrealistic though. I´m not based in the US so maybe the sizing is different...
