What sippy cups are you using?

My babies will be 11 months old and are not fairing well with the sippy cups. I have used Gerber and the soft Avent tip, but they just don't get it. They don't suck on them. They chew on them as they are teething and think it is a toy. So I took out the stoppers so the liquid would flow freely and they still don't get it.

They seem to be kind of slow at getting things. We didn't start baby food until 6 months. We are still stuck at stage two's. #3's throw them off with the chunks. For real food, I can only get them to eat goldfish, crackers, cheerios, shredded cheese, and fettucine.

I am starting off with the Nuby cups. They have a wide silicone spout that is more like a bottle and easier for them to get the hang of. I gave Jacob one the other day and he figured it out within minutes! Emma just chews on it still! You can buy them at most places like Target and Wal-Mart.

As far as the chunkier food goes. They will get it. And actually they are already eating noodles and crackers, so they are doing great! None of my kids ever liked the Stage 3's, we went straight to table food after the Stage 2's. You might try grinding up foods that you are eating, they probably taste better than the jar stuff...YUCK! Also, if they like noodles, I used to cook the little Ditalini noodles(they look like a little tube)with some frozen, diced peas and carrots, and all of my kids loved sticking their little fingers in the noodle holes and picking them up to eat. You can also add a cooked meat to that combo, and you have a meal! Hope this helps a little! [IMG]

We have been trying the soft tip nubys. My girls seem to get the sippy cup thing some days and then they don't get them the next. Granted, our girls are a little bit younger then your kiddos but thats the cup we have had the best luck with thus far.

i use the gerber..with the two side handles.. they chewed on it too..thats normal.. they are teething on it..but keep putting it there with their meals..and show them there is water/juice in there and they will get the hang of it.. eventually dont lose patience it will happen just keep the repetitive.. i feel the nubys were too soft and they chewed them too much ...

With my son, I used the Nuby ones at Walmart that are around $1.50. They were a great transistion for him from the bottle to the sippy cup. We now are on the Gerber cups that switch colors and they are great non-spill cups.

We like these the best Gerber Transition Cup. The Nuby brand was a PITA because if you didn't line it up right it leaked!
