I listened to myself talking to the kiddos and I realized I call them a bunch of silly names. Here are some:
    Monkey My
    Pumpkin Pie
    Punky Pie
    Monk
    Goog
    McGiggly
    Goose
There are probably more, but I can't think of them, unless I am talking to the babies. :D

My son has always been "Buddy" or "Mister ____" and we fill in the blank with whatever random thing we think of or that relates to what he's doing. Like Mister Smiley, Mister Cutie, Mister Butt, Mister Stinky, Mister Poopy...

Then my daughter is usually Pretty or Pretty Girl or Baby Girl, which has stuck from the early days. Guess it's not really fair on the occasions when she gets called Pretty and my son gets called Butt!

we do that, too. most often i call them buddy. the next most common one is little boy.

    i also call them:
    sir
    boo-boo
    booger, boogerino, booger-bottom, booger-britches
    little man
    crabby patty
    dingus mcgee

i'm sure there are a million more. and DH has a whole host of names he uses but they're mostly nonsensical and made up on the fly.

We had so many nicknames when they were born! But these are the ones that have stuck:

    Jason:
J or JJ- short for his name, and even though he isn't a junior, he's so much like his dad that a lot of people refer to him as John Junior, so that's where JJ comes from.
Buggy- I have no idea where this came from. It started early.

    Reagan-
Rea- (pronounced Ray) short for her name
    Sassy- Because she's sassy!
    Silly- Because she's silly!

And I have a song I sing them about Rotten #1 and Rotten #2.

There are a few more, but I'm drawing a blank.

i just remembered that we also call them "diablo canyon 1" and "diablo canyon 2." it's a simpson's reference, and the original line from the show is, "oh diablo canyon 1, why can't you be more like diablo canyon 2?" we usually refer to them that way when one is fussy and the other one is quiet. the quiet one is always diablo canyon 2.

just a couple of simpsons fans working out their fandom on their children.

If you want to have good nicknames you can name you kid Mark. Hee, hee!!

We call Mark--Skiddie, which is short for Skid Mark. We also call him Remarkable, Markie, Mark the Shark, Mark His Territory, and any other cute phrases with the word Mark, but we've called him Skiddie so much that he doesn't even respond to his own name.

We called Eli, Buddha because he had a big old tummy, but now we just call him Boody for short.

So we call our guys Skiddie and Boody, which unfortunately sounds a lot like Shi*ty Booty. LOL!!

My husband has a habit of changing the nicknames, especially for Grace. She started out as Sugar booger then Boogers, then Bougarsie (the French pronouciation), the Garsie, then Garsie popper, then Popperazi....I know, he's nuts.

Connor has always been Connor Man (cause he looks like an old man) but lately he's turned into Connor Fish because he likes to put his face in the bath water and his sheets are a pattern called Connor Fish!

The first nicknames were Miska and Mooska...which were "shortened" to Meekie-Meekie and Mookie-Mookie, but we don't use them as often, now.

Miska (Aiden) and Mooska (Aiden) were started b/c our oldest, Eric (who was known as bubba as a baby) became a HUGE fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse when I was pregnant and it is still his favorite show.

Sometimes, we say Aiden-baden or Little Will, now. We also have a strange habit of adding "my" or "your" at the beginning of a baby's name, depending on their behavior. For example, if Aiden is being sweet, my DH will say "my Aiden" if he is being difficult, DH says "your Aiden" (as if the difficulty comes from me...haha).

Those are the main ones, so far.

We mostly use the same names for both: Snuggle Baby, Snuggle Pie, Snugglet, Miss Crabby Pants, Sweet Pea, Sweet Potato, Pumpkin

Annelise gets called Helmet Head because of her helmet. I think we'll be done with it in two weeks! Woo hoo! I imagine the helmet head nickname will be retired with the helmet. :)

Lol..I love this thread! I've always called Owen "Ojo" sort a compressed version of Owen Johnson, and also cause that cute tlittle bear on Bear in the Big Blue House was Ojo as well. It often gets shortened to Oj and my hubby calls him Ojo-licious, cause he's a very fashion conscious appearance conscious kid and always seems to look really good. Lol...

I also call him "Bub" alot which I picked up from being a comic freak (Wolverine calls everyone Bub) :D Yes, I'm a nerd. And occaionally "Puppy Fur" because he has this super thick silky hair that grows right against his head like a puppy's fur-so naturally I pet his head alot! When he's being a goof we call him Monkey Heed (with his Geordie accent, DH says "Head" as "Heed" )

Steffen has always called George "Foxy" cause when he was a baby and exploring something new, apparently he always did it real sly-like, looking over his shoulder.

They both only get their full names when they're in trouble. Lol! I think that's Universal for all parents though.
