What should I do?

Since last night off and on I have had achiness in my lower abdomen. Kindoff a burning sensation like my period is about to start but not really cramping. My lower back has been aching too. I called my doc. She said to take a warm bath and then lie down on my side for an hour and then see how I felt.

Well, I did all that and while I was on my side I felt somewhat better but within 15 minutes of being back to sitting upright my back has begun to hurt again and I have that sensation in my lower abdomen. I hate to drive 30 minutes to the hospital for nothing.

I'm not even really having braxton hicks right now, but my doc said sometimes they can't tell if I would be having contractions unless I was hooked up to a monitor. I figured if it was really the real thing threatening that I wouldn't be able to sleep through the night.

    What would you do?

I would go, especially since it hasn't let up and she told you to come in if it continued. Better safe than sorry. :hug99:

I would go too, I was 5 cm. dilated and having contractions every 5 min when I was 22.5 weeks pregnant with my twins and I didn't feel a thing. I don't want to scare you but it's better to be safe! Good luck and let us know!

I just got back from the hospital. We were there for about 3 hours and I was having contractions, enough that they gave me 2 shots of Trebutaline to stop them. I was about 2 cm dialated when just a couple weeks before I was not dialated at all. They did an FFN test and it came back negative. Both babies were still doing good. I'm glad I went in. The nurse taking care of me told me I did the right thing...................makes me feel better knowing it wasn't just me overreacting.

HOPEFULLY I can get a couple more weeks to cook the babies. I'm taking the FFN test result with a grain of salt as I've heard many times how inaccurate at predicting things they can be!!

    Thanks everyone for your concern.

My understanding with the FFN is that a negative is much more reliable than a positive. I'm glad things turned out okay for you!

I am so glad you went!!! there is no such thing as going to L&D for no reason - even if nothing had been going on, peace of mind is priceless!!

    Here we go AGAIN.............

I've still been kinda sore/achey since Saturday morning, just not as much as when I went in Friday night. I thought I was doing pretty good today. Then I went to the bathroom and had some diarreaha (I know, TMI) and shortly after that I have begun to ache in my lower belly/back and I can even feel the ache pretty good in my upper thighs. My babies have been way less active since I got the 2 trebutaline shots on Friday night.

My DH is at church with the kids right now and will be back in about a 1/2 hour. I think I'll just wait and see how I feel by then. I feel sooo stupid thinking I may have to go back up to L&D only 48 hours after the first time.........sheesh!!

    Am I the only one???

You should not "feel stupid" at all! :hug99: These are your babies you are protecting. Have you called the OB yet? Remember how the nurse said "you did the right thing". So it's not like you are running in there every two seconds because your toe feels funny, these are legitimate concerns. Please call them and go if necessary, and let us know how it goes. :hug99: Like I said before, better safe than sorry.

I would definitely call again and probably go in. When I took my class at the hospital about twin pregnancy/delivery, one of the signs of pre-term labor was diarrhea. Please call them and let us know how you are doing. :hug99:

No, you are not the only one. After I had my cerclage I was discharged at 2:00pm and was back in L&D at 11pm that night, I felt really strange going back but my OB insisted after what I told her. They say I was not having contractions, but I was sure in a lot of pain.

It is better to be safe than sorry. Do not feel stupid for going again. You need to do what is best for those babies. You need to definitely call your OB and see what he/she says. Keep us posted. :hug99:

I've been taking it extra easy the last several hours and it seems to have calmed things down. I'm not contracting or cramping at this point. The babies have finally decided to become more active again to. I feel alot better as long as I just stay down. I have a doctor appointment Tuesday so hopefully I won't have any more big issues until then.

Fortunately my MIL will be coming in the morning to get some housework done for me and then she's taking the kids back to her house for the next 3 nights. I shoudn't have alot to worry about without the kids here running around and I should be able to take it easy for several days.

I've called my neighbor to ask if she'd take me to the hospital if something happens this week and I need help (DH's work is 20 minutes away from our home on the way to the hospital). We're trying to make sure we have things lined up just in case.
