just trying to find out what other nipples work, it seems that the gerber nuk that my babies are used to does not come in a Y-cut (variable) or criss-cross, with those the thickened milk would come out easier.
my boy has reflux and I have to add the cereal to the EBM and suppl formula in the bottle.....

I know playtex drop-ins have a Y-cut but he won't take that nipple.

or should I just make the whole bigger? they are already using the medium flow which does not seem to be a problem...

I tried to google it but can't find info, anybody knows?

    thanks!

We used a Dr. Brown's size 3 with thickened formula.

We used Nuby nipples and just cut the hole bigger with a steak knife. I just kind of poked the end of the knife in the hole and pushed down a little. I then turned the knife and did it the other way to create an x. It worked well for us and we were on major thickened formula. 2tsp. per oz.

    Good Luck!

My DS Aiden took the NUK bottles & I just took a scissors to the hole on the nipple & cut it into a Y. I didn't need it for thickened liquids, just for faster flow. I bought the High Flow nipples from NUK, but they're BIGGER & my DS HATED them, so my 'home made' ones are working just fine......

We used Dr. Browns with the "Y" cut variable flow nipple. You can also try using a pin to make the hole bigger on the ones that you have, but for us that was so frustrating. It was either too big or it would clog. So I just went out and bought bottles that everyone recommended to make things a bit easier on myself.
