Somedays are just tough, no matter how old your babies are! But everytime I get overwhelmed I try and remember this story about a good friend of mine:

I had a very close friend that passed away 5 yrs ago, she was 31 and died from breast cancer. She found a lump in her breast when she was pregnant, the doctors told her not to worry it was just from the pregnancy. So she left it, and then about 6wks after her son was born she was having a postnatal check-up and she still had the lump, they told her to stop bfing and got her in for some test. She had breast cancer. She fought the cancer for about 6months with chemo and had both of her breasts removed, they gave her a clean bill of health and all was well. Then she was feeling sick a few months later, they found out that the cancer had come back and it had spread throughout her body. She was give only weeks to live. Although she was in extreme pain she always wanted to take her kids to Disneyland, so that is exactly what they did for 5 wonderful days. She got back and within a week she had passed away.
She had two children, and her goal was to make it to her son's 1st birthday, she missed that goal by about a month. She left behind a 4yr old bright little girl and an rambunctious 11month old boy.
When I get frustrated or angry, I try and remember my friend and how all she wanted was to see her children grow up - something I am fortunate enough to be able to do.

Sorry for the sad story - just missing her a lot today : )

    Thanks Isis.

I have a really hard time in the season of Fall. I get VERY depressed and overcome by sadness and emotion. It brings back horrible memories of school starting (HATED SCHOOL) and my parent's divorce etc..

I've been pretty down for the past week and want to say "Thanks!"

Often we take our lives for granted. We are all very lucky and when things go well for sooo long, we forget how good we've got it. I know I do.

I had a bad night and a pretty grumpy morning so far. Thanks for the perspective. I'm going to go give my babies a big hug right now...

Yep, that would really motivate me to appreciate every moment. I also have a friend w/ a tragic story but it was her daughter, my god daughter, that passed away when she was 3. Broke my heart & makes me appreciate even the toughest of times. Once the minute goes by, you can NEVER get it back.
