What meat should I start with? I am starting the girls tonight for dinner with a meat. Are the plain meats better then the meats mixed with veggies? Thanks.

If you can get them to eat the plain meats then go for it [IMG]

The plain meats smell like cat food and I'm not sure my dog would eat them( and he eats cat turds) [IMG]

My boys really like the meats mixed with veggies or fruits!

Mine at the plain meats just fine. We started with the beef with beef gravy, then chicken then turkey. You could try the meat/veggie combo too.

White meat is easier to digest. We started with chicken, then turkey, then pork, then lamb, then veal, then beef.

I have a question to add to this post.....

When can you start meats?? I was thinking the nurse told me not until they were 1 yr old, So I have not given them meat yet. BUT IF I can give it now that would be great

Our doctor told us at their 6 month appointment it was ok to start doing the meats I haven't yet. Do you have to do the same one for 3 days like the veggies??

We started with chicken and turkey. We never did the jarred meats, just the real thing, ground up and mixed with water at first. They were not fond of it at all.

We just kept trying once a week, and they've just recently really gotten into eating chicken and turkey, and I plan on trying out beef this week. They just get small pieces of it now, I don't grind it or anything. I think that's why they started liking it - they didn't like the consistency of it ground up.

And, the more spice the chicken has, the better they like it...unexpected, but my girls seem to be into spicy.

My boys love the veggie/meat combos like Apples and Ham and Turkey/rice, etc.
