My Dad wants to buy the girls some trikes for a late b-day present & I have no clue what works best at this age (well, they will be using them around 2.5 y/o).
I was looking at the Radio Flyer Lights & Sounds, but there are SOOO many to choose from!
What kinds do your little ones like & use well?!
    TIA!

My Girls got these Big Wheel Tricycles for Christmas and they are Great! They both figured out how to get pedaling and go within minutes of hopping on them. They love them!

My girls have the folding tricycles and we have loved them!! They were pedaling on them around 2.5 and can zip all around on them now.

We just got the girls the Radio Flyer ones that are pink. I love them. the girls haven't really gotten the hang of riding them yet but they will with a little more practice. They have this little basket in the front that you can stick all your little trinkets in ... or a baby doll (it has this little flap that you can fold down so you can stick the baby doll legs through or fold up so little things won't fall out) and my girls love that feature. They are addicted to their loveys so that stick them and their paci's in there ... The main reason I chose that trike is because on the reviews, someone wrote that they are good for petite toddlers and my girls are super small for their age (about 32 inches and 22 pounds and they are 30 months) and this trike is perfect for them. They can barely reach the pedals so I know that if I got one any bigger they would not be able to do it at all. If you want, pm me and I will find the specific one and send you a link. I got them at Toys R Us. They were like $55 or something around there.

Just thought of something ... if you want to see pics of it go to my blog ... www.meredith-hannah.blogspot.com ... and there are some pics of them on the trikes.

WooHoo! Thanks ladies for your tips! All 3 are great options! Maybe I will send my Dad all the options & let him pick!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE big wheels....take it back to the old school! :good: (and Kyrstyn, I am 'shocked' that you got them at Amazon ;) ) teeheee....!

 I actually didn't buy these, MIL did but Amazon never lets me down when I need links! :) She insisted on getting the Big Wheels because its what Keith had when he was younger . I have to say I was a little skeptical because there are definitely prettier, fancier ones out there (but I didn't say anything because I wasn't paying for it!) but these work great!! I was amazed at how quickly K&K picked it up!! So far they have tried to ride 3 different tricycles, and these were the only ones they could successfully pedal.

We have these. They are great because they flip easily back and forth between a trike and big wheel. My twins are 3.5 and these will last them quite awhile, I think.

Whatever you get, DON'T get this. My brother got the girls these for their 2nd birthday and while they look adorable and you think they will 'grow' with the girls, they are very unstable and tippy, difficult for the girls to peddle even at 2 1/2, and now at almost 3 are practically too small for them (and they are average size kids). I know my brother meant well, but I'm going to show DH the links for the other bikes in this thread so we can get something usable for our girls once its biking weather again.

I got my twins the red and pink Lights and sounds from radio flyer. It leaves room for growth because the seat is long -kinda like a motorcycle seat. My twins are very tall and 2y 11 months. All the other trykes were so small and had low handle bars. I thought they would do better as new pedaller without the big wheel kind....but now I see that they could probably have picked up pedalling just as quickly in the lower feet pushing forward not down position.Got them from Buy Buy Baby with %20 off coupon- So $48 each.I love the way they look.
