What kind of mop do you use?

Just curious if any of you reccomend a particular mop that is good at cleaning up after two messy toddlers. Something that can handle the jellies, peanut butter and pasta sauce that gets thrown overboard. I've tried the shark steam mop and it couldn't handle the heavy duty spots. I've been using the usual mop and bucket, but I'd like to start mopping more often and was wondering if there was something out there that was a bit more convienent.

    Thanks:)

I love my Swiffer wet mop. You plop a wet pad on, mop away, ditch the wet pad. SO easy!!

I use a steam mop and I love it! It only uses water and after each use I just take the pad off and throw it in the washing machine.

I was going to say I love my shark steam mop. I see that you said it doesn't work well and i'm curious how/why? Could you try doing a quick wipe up of a major spill, with a paper towel or such and then using your steam mop?

I really like my Shark steam mop too. I normally pre-wipe spills, then mop.

I have used Swiffer Wet Jet, and they are ok, but for a sticky mess you would have to go over a lot to get it up. I personally resort to my hands and knees and a rag a lot, just to make sure I get EVERYTHING. I will be looking into a new one when I move pretty soon. I might try the Shark. Im not sure what else is out now. ;)

I use the swiffer dry/wet combination to clean my floors. I find that I am cleaning up after crumbly spills rather than the "stick to the floor" spills. So that's why I invested in the dry and wet pads for the swiffer. I find that the swiffer wet pads dry out long before I am finished cleaning, so I just rewet it with more cleaner and continue. For the serious spills/messes, I will get down on my hands and knees to make sure that everything is up. But we also have a cleaning person that comes every other week. So I know that a thorough job is done at least everyother week, so it eases my mind a little.

We had a cleaning lady who used a mop and squeegee to clean the floors and they always looked so clean. I don't know what our current cleaning person uses.
