SO this week I got two comments that threw me..the first was when I ran into a mom that I knew from a playgroup two years ago...I was in Old Navy and she saw my belly and said "Oh my God...again???" What the heck does that mean???!! Then the kids and I were leaving story time and Matt was throwing a fit over nothing, Grace was dumping things from my bag and I was trying to get coats, hats, etc. on everyone and so the secretery looks at us and says "and you are having another one??" I wanted to punch them both! Am I being hormonal or were they both just totally rude?? It seems like people think 4 is too many...honestly, I'd have 4 more if I had an endless supply of money!!! Just needed to vent so I don't slap the next poor person who dares to share thier opinion!!!
I agree - we are still in the stage of telling people we're pregnant and it's unbelievable the kind of responses we're getting! I know some people are just kidding but still, if I hear "Don't you know what's causing that yet?" I will blow a fuse! I've started responding, "Yes, it's Mexican food - everytime I eat an enchilada I get pregnant - it's the dardest thing!" I've always dreamed I would have four kids - anytime someone gives me a negative response (well, it's been nice knowing you OR better you than me) I think of Christmas morning years from now with all four of them sitting around me - that's my "happy place". As long as we know how blessed we are that's all that matters.
Let it roll off!! You are blessed beyond belief to have twins and to be pregnant with another. Tell them you love being a mother, tell them you would have another set of twins, whatever you want so that maybe they will think twice about thinking negatively! :hug99:
people just are rude. I got that the other day at breakfast. the waitress (where we eat every saturday) said your having another one, are you crazy. I said NO im not, my kids are my world, maybe you just couldnt handle it, but we do just fine. Keep your chin up,
Oh, that would hit a nerve with me, too! I'm expecting #4, too, and at this point in my pregnancy...I might poke that person in the eye! On the other hand, don't give it too much thought. That was very rude and a comment like that doesn't dignify a response or any wasted energy on your part! You are very blessed!
I would have slapped them! Seriously I get comments and I this is our 3rd. I had a few people say " Your pregnant again" like we are popping them out like rabbits. It gets under my skin but I cant say what I really want to say because my girls are always with me so I just end up saying " we are very excited THANK YOU. I would love to put a sock in their mouth for them!! Sorry! I think its wonderful , its noones business but your families!!
Yeah, I had a fairly rude comment when I told a clerk at the grocery store who had always been friendly with me about my pregnancy. I'm not so friendly with her anymore. Little did she know it was twins again. :hug99: People don't think. they think that once you have twins, you're done.
Very rude and I think people who say these brilliant things are very unhappy in their own lives. Honestly I expected some of these remarks and so far have been pleasantly surprised by people's responses. That said I'm very early on who knows what's ahead.
